Could well be a SCAM ... especially when money is requested! Certainly sounds extremely dodgy :cwm24: to me, so please be very, very careful.

WARNING: E-MAIL SCAM ALERT

April 2009: Over the past few months, we have heard from a number of individuals who have received e-mails claiming to be from us—or claiming to be from firms employing us—asking them to send money to us, either via Western Union or to a designated bank account.

Typically, such e-mails suggest that the recipient has been offered a job in the United Kingdom and that, if they send the money, we will obtain a visa for them to come to the United Kingdom to take up the position. Recently, for example, such e-mails have referred to job offers from Hilton Hotels and Deutsche Bank. Such e-mails are fraudulent and you should send no money!

Often such e-mails contain our correct address but incorrect telephone numbers and bank account details. If you receive such an e-mail could you please send it to us at enquiries@gryklaw.com so that we can take appropriate action to have the e-mail accounts and the bank accounts cited closed down.

Tell him NOT to send ANYTHING and forward all the e-mail communication to them (Wesley Gryk) using e-mail address mentioned by Tawi2 (enquiries@gryklaw.com) or forward that communication to you so you can send it to them.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

FYI - Hilton have 22 hotels in 'London' (or close enough to be classed as London).
Their website domain is www.hilton.co.uk, so an obvious pointer to the facty this is a scam is the email address they have used. londonhiltonhotel@yahoo.co.uk ????

None but the very smallest businesses in the UK will operate with a Yahoo, Hotmail, or any other webbased email. They will ALL have their own domain names and I wouldnt even reply to anyone unexpected with a Yahoo email adress.

It's not 100% proof of a scam, but its a HUGE indicator and one that everyone should be aware of.

Like it said in the message on the Gryklaw.com website the address and post code is correct, but the phone no isn't. If it's London it will start in 0207 or 0203. I wonder who you would get if you phone that incorrect no. that was given just above?!

I've seen a few other ads for suposed multiple jobs in London hotels. Always best to check the actual hotels website and check that all the details match & if needed send them an email or phone them to ask if there are actually any of the suposed vacancies available.

Entry Clearance Pin Codes

Glad its all sorted; just by bringing this to attention of the forum will hopefully stop anyone else being ripped off.

I had to laugh about the Entry Clearance pin code... chip and pin machines at British Embassies and Immigration. :icon_lol: :Erm:

It's a personal number that is likely to be redirectable to anywhere in the world. So it's quite likely if you ring it you'll speak to someone in Nigeria.

I doubt any of these scammers are in the UK, they are usually in Nigeria. They just know many people would like to work in the UK.

You need to worry if UK based people started to do these scams as they are likely to be more convincing and so lot harder to spot.
