I've been a lurker for a few weeks now but decided to register. I'm already very much in love with a beautiful filipina. Going out there in a few months to see her. So excited and so happy. I'm looking for information on good flights from london and best times to go :)

Alright languish mate so what part of blighty you from and where is the Mahal from in Pinas?

As Joew says like most places best to wait for sales and avoidf sschool holidays. With Phill being Christmas and Easster crazy miss them both as well if you want to avoid busy times.

Sounds like you on the start of a long journey Sir so get involved and let us all help you both have a nice smooth voyage.

Ah yes - languish is an old forum user name i've used in many places - as for a long time i was languishing. I can tell you now - that most assuredly is not the case any more ;)

I've only used Singapore airlines or European airlines - don't want to use the Arab airlines.

so SIA or KLM

I always use Emirates - Always found them to be a good reliable and fair priced airline. I used to use KLM a lot as well - Quality is not as good but still quite acceptable but the price was a little lower. I stopped using them so much when I moved to Manila and suddenly a Eurpoean-based airline didn't work with my other travel plans.

Nice thing about KLM is that once you have done your 1 hour jump to Amsterdam, it's all the way on one flight (about 13 hours). Gives you time to watch a few movies, have a meal and a few drinks and have a good sleep before landing. A problem with the middle-east airlines where you have 2 flights of about 7 or 8 hours each is that you just get off to sleep and then they are waking you up for breakfast or dinner before landing.

Be wary of the flight times as with any flights the chheaper tend to be those which take longer to get there due to longer stop overs or more changes.

Sometime cathay, SIA or KLM for example are some of the better as often 15-17 hour flights can be got which mean less of your precious leave time is lost and if time well and as others mention you can sleep on the flight mean you sometimnes suffer less from jet lag at least in my own experience.

Something else to consider is which UK airports do the airlines fly from. Both Emirates and KLM fly out of several different UK airports so you don't need to head down to the big smoke if you don't want to.

This is why I use KLM...I live 20 mins. away from Bristol Airport. A quick jaunt to Amsterdam, your luggage goes straight through, you go straight to your boarding gate & your next flight to Manila, is less than 2 hours to wait....easy :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I hope everything works out for you & you enjoy your trip. I'd recommend visiting the Chocolate Hills whilst you're on Bohol.

There is a small Filipino community in Woking & the surroundings towns (Addlestone, Chertsey etc) due to the care homes & St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey. Tescos in Addlestone & Brooklands also seem to employ a few - it's like being in Manila sometimes with the staff & the customers! In Addlestone there's a Filipino store.

Hi there and welcome! How long have you known your lady and how did you meet? When are you thinking of flying? The cheapest so far that I've seen flights for is £355 inc. taxes.

We've known each other for a few months now - we met on the asianeuro dating website - i knew there was something special about her straight away. I am planning on flying out in April. The cheaper the flight the better to be honest - where would you recommend i look for flights. Ideally i'd like to fly to Cebu rather than Manilla as its closer to Bohol. Thanks for the message :)

Have a great time, ive flown twice with cathay, find them very reasonable to say the least. HK is a lovely airport, and the transition from one flight to the next is very straightforward....however if you do have trouble there are plenty of friendly staff on hand to assist you.....enjoy:)
