Speed Cameras

Back in August 2009 Swindon council decided to get rid of all speed cameras......and the stats on accidents and road deaths?
1 Death prior to the cameras being taken out of action, none after, and overall a drop in accidents!!! Go figure!! :mad:

People in Swindon now watch the road instead of the speedo.....

.....and someone managed to get hold of the government stats and it shows they have been cherry picking as the counties without cameras have similar accident rates to those with hundreds of them. :action-smiley-081:

Now the simple signs that flash up your speed actually do slow cars down, and you don't have to refocus your eyes off the road to the dashboard either.

Near where i live in two different councill areas are several of those signs which say how fast you went and as you say they make a big difference to how they drive.

Speed cameras seem to cause more accidents and near misses due to people slowing down and speeding up from people accounts and what i see as you say.
