Don't believe the crap you hear/read in the media, if you clean the snow from around your house whether it is your land or not and someone slips they can't sue you full stop.

This comes from a high ranking UK solicitor, as the law states "you must clear the snow as reasonably as possible", and the one people can't sue against is the word 'reasonable'. He even goes on to say that no one has ever been sued for such an act and any judge would throw it out as an accident.

The only part you may get sued is if a few people have fallen on the same area and you have been informed of this. If you then do nothing and someone falls and breaks an arm they can sue you for neglect, but only if it is on your land.

Common sense really, which is strange to find in UK law! :Erm:

i can understand if it was on your property (any way is snow an act of god :D), but anything outside your front gate, no way I'm responsible for :NoNo:

the water board keep putting a leaflet with the bill, saying i'm responsible for the water pipe once its passes the front gate and i can pay and they will take care of it for a year. :NoNo:

so for the same reason i'm not responsible for anything outside the front gate

talking about snow. some of the houses near Whitefield are covered in icicles up to 2 left long :yikes:, yes 2ft hanging off the gutters and bay windows. i've never seen anything like this b4 :yikes:, you wouldn't want one of them to hit you on the head :Cuckoo::cwm3:
