They always do, surely they should have targets in the contract, and if missed they can be sacked..... These days it appears the managers get exactly what they want, while the club who pays them ££Millions has squat on its side.

For a team as big as Liverpool this is the worst season ever, out of every competition they entered...absolutely terrible! Rafa needs to be shown the door immediately...every Liverpool fan I speak to agrees!

Rumours are that Guus Hiddink is being linked to Liverpool.... He'll do :xxgrinning--00xx3:

If they are going to sack him it has to be THIS MONTH.

A quote from the Mirror

His interview after Wednesday's FA Cup defeat suggested he is still not at ease speaking English. He also has Reading difficulties.

They can't afford to sack him and his entourage, plus the need to put up the illusion of stability to any would be mug buyers.

Hiddink - unlikely he's on a generous Abramovitch retainer

He only went back to managing Russia because it looked likey they would be in the WC. Now, he's going to have to wait another 4 + years. He's in the last years of his career and will want a decent job with the chance of glory. He's had a few well paid jobs Hiddink, so I doubt its about the money for him. I reckon he loved it at Chelsea and would welcome a return to the premiership. I'd be well chuffed if he went to liverpool :xxgrinning--00xx3:

You're right he's top quality with plenty to offer despite being in the twilight of his career

Of course they can afford it. Keep him and lose the potential of £60 Mill next season, or sack him for £6 Mill, and with a new manager make more than that in qualification and TV money from being in tournaments longer, simple maths says it's cheaper to get rid of him.

Not now he isn't, he's free to move around if he wants.
