Hi.

As some of you may, know, I'm flying out to the Phils again this Sundy:)
According to the XE Website, the Pound to the Peso is not so good at the moment, and is becoming worse:NoNo:

Just looking for a general opinion here, wether or not to take dollars instead??
The rate is 1.6 to the Pound roughly.

Happy days:icon_lol:

Unless you have a big pile of USD in your top drawer, I cant see the point in taking them and getting ripped off exchanging GBP into USD and then changing the USD into PHP. You are paying commission twice and having the rate skimmed twice.
I've just come back from the Phil's about 3 weeks ago, using my debit card in the ATM's I was getting approx 73 PHP to a GBP, and at money changers in Manila was getting approx 72 PHP.

Take pounds and convert there, you should get 72 peso to the pound at any good money changer in the malls, be careful outside the malls.

Try not to convert much at NAIA as you won't get anywhere near as good a rate as the malls.

If you take dollars you are just paying two conversion fees, pounds to dollar here then dollar to peso there, bad idea :)

Also have a backup, a cash card or credit card for emergencies.
