Hi everyone.
New here so take it easy on me for the first few threads OK?

I want to send a small (5 cu ft or 22 x 16 x 24 BOX approx size) back to Manila to my house so I would like this service to be DOOR to DOOR

I see one is in Scotland (I live in KENT) there is a site called MRV etc etc (cant think of the full name sorry)
BUT he has advised that I use FEDEX because the box is such a small one, BUT Fedex wants £167.61 PLUS customs and vat at the Manila end (the one in Scotland is only £65-00

So help please
Oh I am going to be sending 1 box every 2 months

Thanks people

In central london I have seen "UMAC Forwarders" trucks around..

Never used them, but they did have a website some time ago (use the web archive) http://web.archive.org/web/20041216210345/http://umacuk.com/

I'm sure their number will be the same 0800 028 0880, so maybe give them a call in the new year. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Here are the prices from 2004

hmm, ive taken boxes to the post office to be shipped to manila, it was cheap at the time less than £50 it was about the size of 3 shoe boxes, and had a mobile, books etc in it, but that was a few of years ago, only thing it took 8 wks nealry to get there, I was just going to make a cliam that it got lost, but it was just delivered b4 i did.

I've just sent visa papers etc, about 100 sheets of a4, by fedX to manila, i nearly fainted when they told me it was £86 !!! arghhhhh, told me was cost of fuel !!! well it was delivered in 2 days.

note to others claiming visa's etc, if the papers are from the uk, i was told a scanned copy was ok, as the embassy told me they wanted my latest pay slip and bank statement, i was going to fed it, but emailed to my wifes aunt in manila to print it out and take it....

just another note, i not had probs b4 but iam sure if says recent bank statements and payslips, but when my wifes son took the paper the embassy worker told him that they wanted my last bank statement and payslip, i know by the time i got all the papers together and it got to manila, the statemnts and pay slips were a month old ! so what , it says recent nothe last on the forms, or they changed the rules ???
