Im just wondering, if you use you use the NCS, as you will be able to keep your passport, are you allowed to travel whilst the home office is processing your citizenship application?

Oops ... :Erm: ... sorry, I just noticed the heading after I'd typed my *query, but you'd replied before I deleted *it. [Too many late nights, I guess!] Apologies also, that I'm unable to answer your question, as MY wife will still be using her Philippines' passport when WE travel to France for a few days early next month.

I'm sure someone will soon respond, though! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

The nationality checking service is provided by local authorities (for example your county council or city council). A local authority can accept and forward your application to us. They will ensure that your form is correctly completed, and they will copy your documents and return them to you

yes you get your passport back.

and

Start of the residential qualifying period

The residential qualifying period will be worked out from the day we receive your application. Most unsuccessful applications fail because the applicant was not present in the United Kingdom at the beginning of the residential qualifying period. You must make sure you meet this requirement before you make your application. For example, if we received your application on 25 November 2005, you would have to show that you were in the United Kingdom on 26 November 2002.

but i think you should wait a few days at least b4 you travel in case there are problems with you app.

When i applied for my Cit using NCS... The lady asked me a series of questions and one of it was do you plan to travel within the 5 days of completing your application? :Erm::Erm::Erm:

But to be in the safe side just stay... Just to give you an idea how my application went through but then again its case to case basis.
