Hi There,
Me and my Fiancee planning to get married this July. But he have only 14 days holiday. If I apply for Marriage License before he goes here is it ok, without his personal apperance? He will just send his documents to me to sort it out.
Many Thanks;
Cess

I'm not sure you can, as you will need his CNI (Philippine version) to apply for the license? Which he will have to change in person.

Your fiance need the certificate of no impediment to marriage (CNI) from his local registrar and have it exchange for Philippine version at his embassy. You have to wait for 10 days for the marriage license. I think 2 weeks would be enough time to arrange your wedding, so better check the requirements at your town/city hall :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Assuming your husband is British, he needs to apply for his CNI at his local Registrars.
If you are marrying in July, wait a while until you apply, as it is only valid for 3 months.
I would tell him to apply for it, around the middle of may.
It cost me £30.00 last year.
Once he has applied, it takes 3 weeks until he receives it.
When he comes to the Philippines to marry you, he will need to change his British CNI, to the Philippine version, at the British Embassy in Manila.
Then you can apply for your license.
Don't forget, you will need to get a CENOMAR (Certificate of no marriage) to prove you are free to marry him. :)
Just use the search facility on the forum & look up CNI & CENOMAR. Should give you some more answers.

:Erm: ... which will cost him approximately Php 4,000 ... depending upon the exchange rate at the time he applies; the one good thing about it being that the "swapover" can be effected in around half an hour - or somtimes even quicker!

Unless things have changed, or are different where you will marry, we both had to attend marriage counselling at the town hall. The Certificate for this had be be produced also when we ask for the marriage licence.
It would be best if you asked at the Registrars office at your town hall what they require. They will have a list.
The local CNI (certificate of no impediment to marry) can probably be obtained on one visit to the British Consulate providing your BF has the UK one, as described Sim11UK

Actually thinking about this, I think it's the Philippine CNI that only lasts for 3 months, the British one is indefinite?...can anyone clarify? :Erm:
In which case, March will be fine to apply.
