Hello,
I would like to ask to those member here who has done renewing their passport...I had mine renewed last month and got the new readable passport today but Im very confused because the passport number of my old one and new one are not the same...Is that normal? Im sorry for this stupid question but i just want to nake it sure....thank u

situation in the Philippines .... but in the UK when u renew your passport, you
get a NEW passport number.
..... the old passport is effectively CANCELLED, and would show up as such if
anyone tried to use it entering/exiting a country.
Logically... its got to be the same in the Philippines.

It's normal to have different passport number when you renewed :)

I live in Spain where one's passport number is the same as their ID No. thus it never changes.
The fact that British Passport Nos change can cause some difficulty in Spain when one sells a property which they bought with an earlier passport.
At one time I had a very close working relationship with Passport Office in UK. From what I know I do not believe they need to change the number to stop an expired passport being used.
