My significant other half is from Dipolog and we're planning our wedding over there for summertime. As Dipolog is a stones throw away from Dakak, i've suggested there but she isn't keen as it's "way too expensive".
Has anyone ever been? I've Googled but half of the results say great value and half say rip off . Help! :Brick:

Hi Steve,

My wife is from Dapitan and we stayed at Dakak the first time I visited her.

It is a very nice resort but as you have said, is more expensive than other places nearby.

Have you considered the Top Plaza hotel or the Dapitan resort hotel.

Rebella is suggesting Top Plaza as her sister works there. Getting married in Dipolog is going to be much cheaper than Manchester, so I don't mind spending that ickle extra. Looked at as place called Mt Sinai but it looked a bit jaded........

So, just to get this straight, this other place it's as good Dakak, you can highly recommend it but you've no idea where it is or what it's called. Your not related to my inlaws are you by any chance ? :doh:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I know where it is.. it's in Dapitan.. near Dapitan's market... forgot what the hotel is called... beach is not as nice as Dakak though as this has brown /off-white sand.. unlike Dakak which has white sand.. if your fiancee is from Dipolog, she can check it out herself? Dapitan isn't that far from Dipolog... about 30 minutes away i think? i hope she won't mind.. too lazy to think about that hotel's name.. hehehehe... and I bet it is famous there as it is probably the biggest hotel resort in Dapitan...

I think you mean the one I referred to in my earlier post, Dapitan resort hotel, formally known as the pavilion hotel.

Dakak is the best locally but is more expensive. As it is away from town you tend to stay in the resort and eat all your meals there and that what makes it expensive to stay there.

If you dont mind paying a little more I would recommend it :xxgrinning--00xx3:
