Hi to everybody.Ive been a member for short while but first time i have introduced myself and written a thread as not that good on computers.I was hoping for some advice on settlement visa for my wife.Ive been together with my wife for 6 years and have 2 children, ive spent 3 years out of the 6 living in phils with my family but now need to get them back here. my 2 children are registered as british citizens at british embassy manila and they have british birth certs and british passports.Ive recently come back to uk because both my children have been seriously ill my daughter was in intensive care for 3weeks and i have had to pay over £9000 in medical bills, so had to come back to work as most of my savings have been spent on the med bills. I have only found a low paying job which i know is not good for appling for visas but just wondered if anybody out there knows if it would be easier to obtain my wifes visa with our children being registered as british citizens and having british passports. We applied for a 6month family visit visa last year but was refused because they did not think my wife would return after the 6months. Hope somebody can give me some advise. And i hope i can be of some help to other members as i have some knowledge of life living in phils,[but obviously not of the visas] i first travelled there in 1999 lived there for 2years before i met my wife. So i might be able to help with things like good places to stay for example as i have been to a few islands from davao in mindanao to bangued in abra in luzon.

i think the only way your children being British citizens would help your wife, would be that it shows your relationship with your wife is genuine, especially as you've been married so long..
you needs a job which you have, some savings (£2,000+ , save it, use your credit card or borrow money from family/friends)
also you need a place for your wife to live without it being overcrowded, any chance you could live with your parents ? ..
sorry to hear about your children being ill :cwm24:

Hi and:welcomex: Nice to read your story & sorry to hear of jour troubles more recently. Shame that your children were not already living over here as then you wouldn't have had that extra expense of the hospital bills. Are they well now?

Hi southeast boy. Thanks for the welcome:xxgrinning--00xx3:.Kids ok now thanks, and talked long and hard with my wife about bringing my kids back to uk with me after they were dicharged from hospital, as my family here could of looked after them while i work,my wife could see the benefits of it but she could not ber to be without the kids and i think its not far for her to be in that situation. So we agreed to let them stay in phils. We have are own place in phils which helps for the familys security. Just got to work hard now and save some extra cash and apply for settlement visa next year.I would of stayed in phils as had a small gang of brickies working for me in uk that used to be able to finance me ther. But had lay them all off because of no work since the building side of things went tits up because of recesion.:xxgrinning--00xx3:
