If you're young, free and single, the nightlife is great. I had a fantastic 6 months there when I was in my early 20's! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

It's not the first time you've mentioned these bikini clad gals...anything you want to tell us???

As for Manila, I just don't really like the place...it's not really the Philippines I love.

I guess it reminds me of coming home too. :bigcry:

This is tough, whats good about Manila, the trains are good, cheap and clean, except there littered with people.

I think the Malls win, but then again you can get an SM or Robinsons in so many places that are a similar standard, so not exactly unique to Manila now, MOA stands out as a nice place to relax by the bay.

Living in a rural part of Wales where nothing happens, Manila for me is fascinating, the noise of the traffic, the street vendors, the dirty river, the crowds, the fast food places (McDo every 100 yards it seems), the falling down buildings and the litter. After a few days though, I'm glad to get away from it all when we usually board a flight to Tacloban where the pace of life is not so mad.

Best thing in Manila... departure lounge.

Departure lounge i dont think so, considering the toilets are out of order a lot of the time. Its 1 of the worst departure lounges in the world and i have been in a few,But some may disagree.Im not sure what it is but manila is 1 of the best citys in the world i think, maybe because its like no other city in the world. Its just crazey. Your always have a good time in manila if its for 1 nite or 1 month, but you need to be swiched on, like in most big citys.Be carefull when you change money outside of airport. I recommend the 1 next to duck inn or opposite southern cross hotel on del pilar street for best rates and most importantly for your safety thats if your staying in ermita area..

The states must be going down hill since last time i was ther(LA in 1997)if philadelphia is worse than NAIA.I was in guam last month where americas day begins, sort of part of the states, and thought what a pleasant lounge.

It's one of the worst airports in the world for lost luggage/theft. Toilets require wellies, you have to collect your luggage, and check in again, travel between terminals is about 1.5 miles form 1 - 2, and you have to walk. Staff are unhelpful..... free wifi has a speed of 1K :doh

When I saw this thread I thought you were having a joke, but everyone has beat me to making it. There is nothing nice about Manila! I do my best to avoid it, and try not to even travel through it if I can plan an alternative route.

What's nice about Manila?

Well most of the people are really nice, and though it might look like a dump, personally I am very fond of the place.
