This is my final attempt, if I can't get airborne then I'm giving up and going to Skegness for 2 weeks instead.

KLM have re-booked me for Sat 24th from Birmingham to Manila and returning on Sat 8th May. I've had to cut my trip short by 4 days and wont be going to Tacloban now, but I'll probably spend a few more days in Boracay instead.

At least I'll miss the election now:D Good job I can do postal voting, but only if I get the form by this Friday.

I suppose I'd better get on to Cebu Pacific and PAL and try to change my internal flight dates. I would imagine the costs have gone through the roof since I originally booked them in January:Brick:

I've also got to get hold of Agoda.com and change the dates of my hotel bookings. No doubt they will try to fleece me too.

BTW, KLM wanted an extra £500 to change my flight to Saturday and extend my stay by 5 days. Amex Travel persuaded them to change the dates as a good will gesture and a £20 admin fee.

The wait will be worth it in the end.

Good luck stlov - hope it goes well for you. I've just checked KLM departures for today and the 7.45 from Brum left about 15 mins late, so at least it's running now. They also plan to operate the 14.10 AMS - MNL flight as of today.

SE Boy, yes American Express have bent over backwards to help me out, I really can't thank them enough for what they have done for me. I've used them a few times in the past and have also used Trailfinders for long haul flights. Up until now there have never been any problems, and I have always been pleased with the service from both. However, recent events and the support Amex have given me makes them a class above everyone else in my opinion.
The other benefit of Amex for me is that their office is less than 50 metres from mine, so I can call in any time I need to and all of the staff know me. You can't do that with tickets bought on the web of through a call centre and they don't offer you that personal service that you get face to face.
