Hello Aromulus,
anything going on in Wales? I was in Cardiff once when I was still single. Friends took me to the local rugby club. that was cool. You guys know how to party :) ... would love to visit the place again, but this time I'm dragging my husband with me. :icon_lol: Would be nice to do that when there's some filipino event also. :)

Lol been to a few where i loked like a beetroot by the end of the day due to the sun but yeah but a mare if it rains.. I remeber a few years back a huge swarm of flys attacking both lampton park and the high street:rolleyes:

Very expensive dont advise anyone to go there too hungry unless you bring some food along your self unless you got deep pockets. We live near by and the Wife normally spends a sum which frightens me but many of the barbacue dishes she loves she simply cant do with her mates on a regular basis.

Also make sure you bring cash a you can imagine cash is king in nearly all the stalls i have seen and the nearest bank (local atms from memory are all those that charge extra) is a fair old walk u in the high street..

Be careful every year they try and charge you to walk in to the park which is a public space... Thy have no right to as far as im aware and when ever they ask the group im with we ignore them i think they justify it with a raffle. up to you but dont feel obligied:rolleyes: Sadly some Phills seem to be very good at making other Phils feel gulity about this let the kuripot Brit take the lead:D

The Wife and Friends will buy quite a few dishes in tupperware and at a fiver on avg a dish its not cheap. Also make sure you walk round the stalls first as the prices and styles will vary dramtically. Also if on a budget wait till the end and you may get 2 for 1 dishes as the stalls often want to sell as much as they can on both days..

Very handy for those who wanna talk to the phill companies that many Phills in the Uk need.

Travel agents, Banks, remittance companies, Freight companies, Mobile phones etc. But remeber the people that man stalls are often sales people so be careful..

The shop stalls you need to be very careful of, gem up on the prices you get locally as we have seen remarkably cheap prices for goods and sometimes items priced three times a much as we can get locally:rolleyes:

Plus a funfair full of Phills West London phill kids running round in huge groups:D

Parking is a nightmare. Hounslow Central Tube Station is nearby, I'd suggest parking outside of the immediate area and getting the tube for the last part of the journey.

Hi, first post here :)

A friend recommended I bring the family. It's a way to go but prepared to make the effort. Thanks for the tips on parking. I will explore public transport options.

Does it cost anything to enter? I'd read elsewhere there was an attempt to charge but they weren't authorised to do so because it's held on public park space?

Just go!...wander about, take it all in, relax, enjoy the sights, the smells etc. If you've not been to the Philippines before, it's the closest you will get to it...No Jeepneys to run you over though. :D

If you talk to anyone, it's a bonus...if not, just go home at the end of a great day.

Take the opposite approach and enjoy your own company. Not everyone in groups find it enjoyable.Firstly, if you are a bit tight, you are constantly worrying if you are going to have to buy the others drinks etc. No one is looking at you just enjoy it.:)

We will be there. Going down tomorrow with our caravan and will site it near Amersham and then travel in each day. We have been several times before and I can echo many of the comments already made. The girls seem to love the stages (Connie got to sing on the big stage a few years ago) and all the socialising. She will meet up with some friends from around here plus her Aunty and another friend who lives in London. They will all bring mountains of food and picnic, Filipino style. We have regular gatherings of the local Filipino community here so it doesn't feel so special to me. In truth I find it pretty difficult to find anything to eat, not being a big fan of rice, lechon and definately not dried fish. I plan to go to a soccer match on Saturday, after an hour or so at the fiesta, and maybe not at all on Sunday! Don't tell Connie though. Parking is a pain and quite expensive.

I guess it was a bit like before I went to the cinema on my own. I didn't like the idea and I thought people would think if me a saddo on my own! But I got fed-up of missing films that I wanted to see, so I thought sod-it, I'll go on my own and it wasn't nearly as bad as I though & I now go often on my own and it doesn't worry me. :) Of course I do feel a bit jealous sometimes when I see couples and wish it was me!

SEB now im sure most people will check the Site and if they facebook with you that as well before going either the evening before or in the morning or at the event!!. If you and others know what people are wearing etc then a good chance you will bump in to people.

If you read last years many met up and had a good time. I will be walking round with the Wife, a friends daughter and poissibly a mate or two of mine and im sure during the course of the day we will have various other friends of ours meet up and tag along with and people dont know so well we bump into.

PS I have seen ladies either in pairs or on there own there I know due to conversations I or others in our parties have with them:)

There is a multistorey carpark Hounslow Civic Centre right next to the park that they take over for parking at the Barrio Fiesta, it used to be free but last year they were charging £10. We normally park in the residential streets around the park, it takes a while but you never normally have to walk too far.

Do what we do park near a Piccadilly line station a couple of stops from Hounslow Central and take the tube for the last bit. Saves all the hassle of parking and traffic congestion nearby. Heading off soon to arrive about 1pm.

The nearest tube station is literally just up the road from the park. All throughout the day hundreds are walking to and from the park. The walk is not that bad and you will see plenty of others with pushchairs and prams making the walk. The walk is maybe 3 minutes or so which is not bad. Unless very lucky i doubt you will park nearer..

Took loads of random pictures of the crowd which shows how vast the fiesta is and how many people are there. Which if the boss wants to me post I will but dont wanna waste bandwith.

Today we seem to spend most of the time in the funfair which was good the phill kid chavs seemed well behaved today:D Even their pitbulls were polite and smiling:rolleyes:

I think the guy who owned the basketball net skill stall at the fair was regretting making it only get two baskets out of three for a huge cuddly toy as normally in the UK i bet its a safe bet most people rarely play basket ball in the UK but had not counted on all the basket ball crazy pinoys:icon_lol:

Yeah was boiling and the breeze went missing for big chunks of the day.

From a quick butchers at yesterdays and todays pictures I would say a good 50 percent more people. Loads more families camped out for the day some of the tents were hugggge..

Yeah the food area on the right hand side of the stage area was packed to a crazy level and of course not helped by families who decided to set up camp in the walkway:doh

Seemed to be a lack of the marshalls who all seemed to stay on the empty side (to the left of the stage) where all the promotional stands were:rolleyes:

I hope someone has the sense to have a word with people next time or sods law in the next year or two there be an accident and then the HnS people will go loopy:rolleyes:

We had a group of teenagers with us whose mums had handed them dosh to spend some for foods and the rest to spend as they want which was on the rides three quid for the dodgems:omg:

Yeah, was an experience! Will go again, but know more what to expect and will get their earlier! Couldn't believe how many food stalls there were and how busy each one was! :omg:

Only things that were slightly annoying was that when I was walking from the car-park to the Lampton park, my friend phoned (from a friend of her's phone as the signal was bad on her phone) and said that she was in the middle. I got there and was surprised by how many people were there and wondered how the hell I was going to find her amongst a few thousand Filipinos! :doh I phoned her, but because of her bad signal, couldn't get through, so spent ages walking around (also lugging 2 chairs) the 'middle' trying to find her and phoning her phone & her friends phone which also had a dodgey signal! :Help1: Luckily I eventually got through to her friend after walking around for 45 minutes or so!

Was disappointed that I missed out on some Filipino coconut ice-cream as it had sold out when I went back! :bigcry:

Don't think I've even waited so long to get a go of the dodgems! Was a mass scramble as soon as the previous go finished! :icon_lol:

Glad you made it ! We had the same problem with phones (both o2) I can only think the local transmitter mast must have been overwhelmed by the sheer number of calls. I was only able to find my wife cos she had texted me about half hour before I got there giving her approx location. A lot less numbers there and more comfortable climate on the Saturday, the queues were bearable.

Roll on next year :D

What was strange is that I'm also with O2, but had full 3G signal! But I had my new iphone 4 though , so even with these reports it seemed to be working very well and far better than other peoples phones! :)
