Lactose intolerance is the inability or insufficient ability to digest lactose, a sugar found in milk and milk products. Most folk with some lactose intolerance can tolerate some amount of lactose in their food.

Common symptoms of lactose intolerance up to 2 hours of drinking milk/milk products include:

abdominal pain
abdominal bloating
gas
diarrhea
nausea
90%+ of Asian people are some way intolerant to the lactose in milk, whereas in the UK it is no more than 15%.

Apart from the above systems for Lactose intolerance, milk itself is not a natural food for humans, being obviously derived from cows. Milk stops the absorption of the vitamins and minerals the body needs, so all those added to your cereal, mostly just pass through you. Same goes if you take vitamin pills less than 2 hours after you have had milk.

I myself use little milk as I can't stand the aftertaste, which is more common than I thought. Strange thing is that 2% milk in the USA has no aftertaste!
