Hi Guys,
I just got my Flr(M) extension visa today, we applied in person to Home office in Glasgow. Oppps one of the immigration officer told us that this coming April, 2007 there will be a new sets of Forms for applying (settlement) and expected that the visa fee will be high as well...i hope it won't go up to £1,000 :NoNo:
PS. I have some questions bout this Life in the UK test, as im confused about when to take that. As one officer told us before apply ILR..... and we asked another lady who gave my visa as far as she know's only when im going to get my citizenship a year after ILR....
so what is it then???????:Help1:
Cheers!

Ive just sent off for FLR, as my wife came here 7wks after her visa was issued on a 2 yr spouse visa !:doh means ive had to apply for FLR until shes been here 23 months ( mid April) great just in time for the new forms !!! there better not be much of a price increase, i can see me getting :cwm23: if there is, as i need to apply for my wife and my stepson who turns 18 in 2 wks !!
if they do increase it by anythnig, i want to know why and how they justify the increase. sick of people pushing up prices. esp above inflation. lol £1000, you know, we should take the gov to court if they try that, if banks and other companies have to repay money for charging more than they should , so should the gov.
as for the 'living in uk' test, yes i got the same answers, well you need to take it , i would have tohught b4 you apply for ILR, i was told you can take it anytime, anyway, i want my wife and step son to take it b4 april, b4 they expand the chapters, and i'll phone the 'local' (10 miles away!) test centre up to see if i can book them in for it in march.
good luck, and they better not increase the visa price, :furious3:

FLR by post. I would not recommend applying by post just to save a few quid. Our application was received 1st December 2006 and yes we are still waiting even though the website says there are processing January applications now.

well I posted my wifes FLR on the 24/1 and i need all the papers back to apply for ILR on the 10th of April, i better have all the papers back by then , then again it doesnt matter, because once they have your application, your visa is still valid until they have made a decision, even if by that time your visa has expired..
if they can process it in 24hours for £500 , hell they can do it in a month for £335 !! ,

The £500 lets you jump the backlog, that is the idea.
Remember, visa's used to take over 9 months only 3 years ago. You don't know how lucky you are these days.

UK is the only European country that puts its prices upfront, other countries you need to bribe.

for processing a FLR app £335,
but for £110 you can
get the following..
a passport £66
a driving licence £38
to register a birth is free of charge :omg: ,yes free of charge, but copy of birth cert from £3.50 to £7
so for £110 you can get all these, so why is the processing fee for FLR £355 !!! :cwm23: :yikes: :action-smiley-081: :NoNo: :Rasp: :Brick: :bigcry:  :omg:

I would definitely advice to those who will apply FLR(m),ILR etc in person as its less hassles... gauranteed that your passport will be back with your visa at the same day!
PS.... 1-2 hrs to wait depends on the queue.
