Hi all,
You cannot get a more british meal than "Tripe and Onion" :xxgrinning--00xx3:
Not that I would eat it!
When I was young around 60 years ago my dad used to make me deliver "childlins" and other cheap food he was able to get then and share with other people!
A nice Beef roast dinner for me!

Triple5 A lot of people allege that Tikka Masala was actually invented in the UK. Indian origins, obviously, but not generally available in India.
My wife loves Fish & Chips as well.

We eat Talapia fresh, the marinated milk fish is always frozen.
The taste of dried fish reminds me of Friday tea times 40 years ago.
it was Sprats and that is what the brand of dried fish Jane gets, reminds me of.
We don't have the thick crusty bread to go with it though:NoNo:
It is 2 buckets of rice instead

:xxgrinning--00xx3: Glad you like the traditional Scottish recipe consisting of haggis, neeps [turnips - mashed] 'n' tatties, Ann. Must say, I enjoy it too ... but alas, Myrna was somewhat reluctant to sample this delicious (peculiarly native) delicacy - once she'd read the ... :Erm: ... list of ingredients on the label of the outer-skin ... um ..."bag" containing the haggis itself. :doh ... me and my :smileybigtmouth:!

Suffice to add ... she's since reverted to her former custom of having rice as an accompaniment to each and every main meal. :ARsurrender:

Well, Myrna & I tend to shop at Farmfoods too ... not ALL the time, like ... but regularly, because :iagree: it sells good quality products at an affordable price. And WE'RE thriving! There's even two of their stores in Perth ... so THEY'RE obviously not doing so badly either.

:welcomex: to the United Kingdom ... and also to the Filipino/UK Forum - which, as its name suggests, exists to foster the already excellent relations between our two Nations. Here, you'll be able to communicate online with, and befriend many others who've "trodden the same path" as yourself ... likeminded folk, with whom you can share your feelings on the new - and often daunting - experience of settling into a different culture and lifestyle. Liverpudlians themselves ... :Erm: ... sometimes called "Scousers" ... have a well-earned reputation for friendliness, so I'm sure it won't be long before you become part of your local community.
:xxgrinning--00xx3: So ... enjoy the fellowship we offer, as you eagerly await the birth of your child. :baby1: Take care & heartiest Congratulations !

Ah me, Ann ... thing is when Myrna first came here, I occasionally gave her *black pudding along with bacon & egg at breakfast time. And she really enjoyed it ... until, one morning, I happened to casually mention *it consisted of dried blood - amongst other things. :icon_eek: ... MY mistake! :doh So, of course, that explains why she subsequently checked the label on the haggis. :cwm25:
But ... :Erm: ... perhaps with a little gentle persuasion ... :poke:
