Ahh ... she's :76: on the :telephone:, right now. But something she'd been saying recently about someone in a situation similar to Tony's, brought him to mind.

Not NOW, :NoNo: this was quite a long time ago. And he came back safely in the end ... with considerably more money than Tony had intended taking with him!

I don't think anyone had his number, so unless he pays us a visit, I guess we'll never know. Unless someone contacts the British Embassy :Erm: they may know if he is ok.

Well he was still in one piece 3 weeks ago, he posted on here back then. How long did he plan to go over for, he seemed to be there on April 30th?

Hope things went well for him, he's a very shy lad!

With any luck, the girl will be looking after her investment..Just hope she can help him keep his visa updated..
Heard nothing in Cavite so perhaps thats a good sign.

Ah I see, not good :( really hope he is ok!

Regards Visa's I was amazed last month, I got caught in the ash cloud debacle and had to go to Intramuros to make sure that I would be ok on exit (our embassy said stranded passengers were ok and would not be penalised but I was not willing to take a chance).

Anyway I got to the BI only to discover that I had been given a Balikbayan stamp on entry !!!! Luckily I found this out before I spent two hours filling in forms :D only wasted a journey and maybe 10 minutes of our time.

I wish the lassie at NAIA immigration had at least told me I had a one year entry permit (BB status is not a visa) I hadn't a clue, it was only after going to the BI and looking closely that I realised there was no exit date on my passport stamp :D

fred

Jim.. At least you now know what a BB stamp looks like!! lol..

Jim.. At least you now know what a BB stamp looks like!! lol..

Indeed a scribbled handwritten BB on the normal stamp :D  hahahaha

I should not actually have gotten it as Ana and I are still not married but the girl that processed us just assumed we were :)

Next time, I've got my kids NSO birth certificates and I'm going to try to blag it, you can ask for BB status on entry but they can ask for proof of marriage, we cant marry for technical reasons just now but I'm going to try to find out if I can get BB status on the basis of my kids being Filipino and point out that my last stamp was BB.

It's worth a try even though I wont actually use the privilege, only going for 10 days next time :(

fred
8th June 2010, 02:02
I went alone once with my son..The immigration officer thought he was a cutie and seeing I had previously had BB stamps gave me another..
Its the luck of the draw but a 20 Pound note accidently left in a passport often sways the decision in our favour..Or so Im told!

hello all, time to tell u all what ive been upto, well i had to borrow 10000piso to cover all the expenses of the wedding, :) got married on the 17th may at the house, was a wonderful day with lots of family there and we got 20000piso as gifts from the family, so i payed the 10000piso strait back to my friend,
disaster struck on the day we was suposed to come back to uk, there son started being sick ect, so he was in hospital for 3 days, was dehydrated, but was ok that night but needed to be sure, we canceled the flights and rebooked them for a week and a halft later on the 2nd june, my visa coverd me until 23rd of june so no worries there, i was anoyed but ended up enjoying the rest of my stay there, 2 days before my new flight i started crying alot and the drive to the airport was upsetting for us both, well when we was in the airport her sisters creditcard wouldnt work, but luckely my wife had enough money to pay the rebooking fee, and yes had to pay airport tax 750piso,
all sorted and arived in uk with a bounce and the brakes on the plane screeched, i think birmingham runway isnt long enough and dubia runway is far too long hehe, was a hot day in uk when i arived, was like in the phils :),
thankyou to the guy that invited me to his wedding on the 18th, sorry i couldnt reply and come, hope you had a great day, and thankyou all for the advice,

yes im an idiot for takeng risks, i took a big risk going there with hardly any money, if anything had of gone wrong i would of been in a right mess, i was very very lucky that nothing went wrong,

thankyou all, what i need to do now is sort out a job and save up until i have atleast £0000s of pounds so i can go there again next year,,

First of all, Tony ... Congratulations on your :wedtoss:! Glad all went well! :BouncyHappy: Have you made any arrangements as regards your wife applying for her spousal visa? Good to know your stepson has recovered from his illness.

As you can imagine, everyone here has been concerned about your welfare :cwm24: ... as we hadn't "heard" from you for some time. Now we understand WHY!

Secondly, we're all mightily relieved to learn you're home again. :welcomex:back, take care ... and start saving for your new lives as a married couple!! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Welcome back home Tony :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Congratulations to you and your wife on your wedding :wedtoss:

First thing for you to do is to start saving as it is going to be an expensive time for you in your endeavour to bring your wife to the UK.
I hope you have kept your airplane ticket and any hotel invoices as these will be required for your "evidence of relationship".
You will need to do a lot of searching on this forum so you will know what you have to do from now on.
Start making a list of the things you will need to do.

You will probably have to go back there again to help your "evidence of relationship".

Start keeping a log of all your email or instant messenger chats with your wife. Keep all photos and any letters too.

Start reading and asking questions here, everyone will assist you.

Prepare well and it will save you time and money.

So.......another sucker who has fallen for those lovely Filipina eyes and loving ways :Cuckoo: (Join the club :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:)

Enjoy your memories for now until you can see her again.

Hi Tony, My wife was just the same when we parted.
Between me leaving her in March and returning in June last year she had lost nearly 6 kilo's.:NoNo:

Jane has been here since December and even though she is eating like a horse she has only gained 3 kilos taking her weight to 46 kilo's, for someone who is 5' 6'' she needs to gain aleast another 6 kilos.

23rd June 2010, 12:29
I think the point trying to be made is that it is not necessary to maintain the balance at £2000; it can be lower but NEVER be overdrawn.

The statements need to show that there is regular income paid into the account and after deductions for living expenses you will not be overdrawn.

IainBusby
23rd June 2010, 13:50
The main thing is that you should have a regular income and that your bank account shows that you can live on that income with a bit to spare (enough to support a wife) and on top of that, a bit of a backup in the bank to allow for emergencies should they occur.

thanks guys, i didnt know that, well at the moment im stil living with my mother, so when i get back into work it will be easy to save up a good amount, is it best to stay here with my mother while aplying for the spouse visa or is it best to get my own place then apply for the visa,

does your mom own her house or rent ? how many people live there ?
but if possible it would be better if your mom sponsored your wifes acommondation, becuase you would be saving a lot more money by not paying rent and all the bills that go with getting your own place ..

liz you have been so good to me from the start, im so honoured that you love me even though im far from perfect, the night that we went to the swimming pool was so hard for me to accept my problem, but u stayed by my side and talked to me and helped me feel better, and in the end i overcome my fear and came in the pool, that was one of my dreams come true, you are the best thing thats happened to me and i miss u so much, i remember every moment with you, im crying as i type this, silly tony hehehe, i realy hope we can be together soon, im proud of you liz, as your bro says, your the best of the best hehehe, soon as i find a new job ill save and save then il visit u then save and save until i have the £2000+ in the bank for the required 6 months then il visit u again and and we can get the visa so we can be together for ever, be stong my love and all will be ok, we have come this far so never give up, love you.xxxxxxx:heartshape1:
anyway:) im just here now waiting for my love to wake up, and while im waiting ill look round the site and try to find more info, gust a quik question guys, if the spouse visa is denied will we loose the 45000piso:cwm3:, or do we pay that fee once we have recieved the visa?

lolsss amazing love letter ehhhhh:D:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Tony, embassy wanted to have their money 45,000pesos first so try to save and complete all the docs she need. Better her to apply spouse visa if you're already permanent with your job or maybe 6 months employed with £3000 savings. Tell your MOm to make a letter which states she's willing to accommodate both of you. If they owned the house, much better. Save your money for her application rather than ticket.:xxgrinning--00xx3: Wish you land a job soon.:)
