I think the countryside of England is very lovely. Devon, Dartmoor in particular and the farmlands that looked like quilt, the coasts (jurassic coast is very lovely), Bath and other Roman places, like Silchester which has the ruins of a Roman Town and the Roman amphitheater, White horse hill, English heritage places like Stonehenge, Woodhenge and Castles....:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I have been thinking about this same scenario all week:xxgrinning--00xx3:
I think the main thing first of all with my Mahal is my home city and everything I an think of doing together. Theatre, comedy club, bars, places to eat.. Just getting around and experiencing the culture.
after that, it would be the wider UK and even places I want to visit myself.. I have yet o visit cornwall! Edinburgh! laces that I want to visit but would rather visit with someone, these are the places I will go... As well as the odd trip to blackpool and Alton Towers:xxgrinning--00xx3:

How about the west country, always a beautiful place to be, but we are all locally bias in that respect.
My Mahal says she watched the new Robin Hood film, so when she comes over we are going to go to some 'real' castles. A really good one for us 'southerners' is Arundel Castle. Also being close to Wales, there are several good ones there. Stone Henge is good, but a shame you cannot get right up to the stones these days.
I told my mahal this morning that I will take her to the beach fishing one night, she was excited about that, then I told her it will be so cold that she will lose the feeling in her feet and hands, something she has never experienced before :icon_lol::icon_lol: Warming up is always fun though :xxgrinning--00xx3:

If like my Wife and her friends in their 20's who have come over they want to see Film locations from Notting Hill and whatever rather than places of outstanding beauty.
For example took a picture of the Wife by a door in westminster Bridge on the side by the old GLC building (near the London Eye) At first the wife didn't click and i said pretend to open the door etc. Of course its the door from one of the recent bond movies which seems to be on star movies 24/7 so all her friends and family once told via the comments in the FB album and seemed to make more comments about this apart from the search for the blue door in poterbello road from Notting hill.
From experience young pinays although can appreciate the beauty of old buildings and fountains are not that interested until you mention it appeared in Bridget Jones or whatever..

Amesbury town and civil parish in Wiltshire, England. It is most famous for the prehistoric monument of Stonehenge which is in its parish, and for the discovery of the Amesbury Archer – dubbed the King of Stonehenge in the press – in 2002.

Hi James, (we must have a beer somtime I will PM you my moby). One of our 1st UK days out was Abrahams Heights/ Masson caves above Matlock Bath accessed via a small cable car (fun if she has not been in one). The views are great the, caves are amazing and the shops are touristy , best bit is great pubs and beer hehhehehe. I was based in Bridnorth at that time and she loved there as well as North/mid Wales, Horseshoe Pass, Swallow Falls, Snowdonia, Conywn castle, Great Ormes etc. Since then one on her favourities is north cornwall watergate bay, Trebarwith Strand, Tintagel etc. We are not far from Merry hill cenre she is shopped out already hehehe.
Look forward to meeting uo for that beer, my mahak and babies are in palawan right now so plenty spare beer time LOL

Two of my favourite places in the UK are the city of York for it's character, history and architecture and Warwick Castle (there is an entrance fee but in my opinion this is the best castle in England and well worth a visit).
Then there is Covent Garden in London which is always a hive of activity, the London Eye, Harrods and theater land for a show

I'd like to suggest a nice relaxing tour of beautiful English Pubs. :Wine:
Many are located in some very rural and picturesque settings. Food available. Interesting architecture, historic connections, interesting names (with cultural meanings), and wide variety of alcoholic beverages.
Not forgetting cosy accomodations.
Seems to offer everything.
