so its her first day and we decide that shopping is in order- whole new wardrobe needed and cash in hand we hit the shops
trawled around all the shops and she spent the sum total of £9.99 on a pair of shoes:xxgrinning--00xx3:
wonder how long thats going to last:Help1:
off to tesco for a food shop - this time £108 later and with the essential slow cooker (wait till later ) we hit boots where she gets a hair dryer and an iron for her hair- to you and me thats ceramic straighteners:D
anyway we gets home and she is complaining that her rice cooker ( the slow cooker ) doesnt have a cup in it:doh i produce a cup from the cupboard but no this isnt the cup that comes with the cooker. so we have a converstaion for about 30 mins on why the slow cooker and the rice cooker are the same thing:doh
we are due out tonight but at the moment shes crashed out so dunno whether we will make it

Cheers to both of you!
Can't believe Sparky that you don't know what a rice cooker is :)
Rice cooker and slow cooker are definitely, in my book, not the same thing Myrna is right!
Slow cooker does meat and veg over a period of 8 hours or so, rice cooker makes rice in 15 minutes, it's an absolute essential, I never had one before I went to the Phils but I could not live without it now.

She can always cook rice in a pan.. i do cook rice that way and it only takes 15-20 mins and wallah! it's done! no fuss going about :)
And also, I was wondering if there's any charity shops where you live? She can get a lot of shopping for pennies in the second hand shops. :Cuckoo:
Be reasonable hehe! i'll consider myself KURIPOT! :cwm3:

I do weekly shopping at Asda or Morrisons.. :)
I'd love to get a greenhouse so I can start planting my own veggies. It's very handy if in case your misis is so desperate of cooking gulay (vegetables).
If there's any Asian shop nearby, please try to ask for a Talkhome phonecard. It's a lot cheaper for making international phonecalls back home :Rasp:

My advice sparky is to let her loose in the charity shops.
Like many English people, she will love to spend time looking for bargains and you will see that she is thoughtful about money.
Buy her flowers every week (the supermarket prices are very reasonable nowadays) and buy her the things she will need, especially during the settling in period.
Get her to use chikkatext to text her family free from a pc.
Most of all, give her lots of attention and love, of course this will never stop and shouldn't stop for always.

the love an attention is the easy bit- in fact perhaps too much as i am always asking her if shes ok etc.
flowers- check -had one of my staff buy a bunch so they were there when we arrived back home
charity shops- i am trying to get her to make friends with a few girls here so that they can go off shopping etc in a girly way without this big lumbering lump tagged along with her:Rasp:
