Hi!

An 18 year old student here looking for a place to stay in London, preferably 30-45 minutes away from South Bank London. I have been here in the UK for about 3 years and was born in Philippines. I have just been offered a gap year placement in South Bank London by one of the big four companies. So yeah, just looking around here to see if somebody knows a place I could stay in, budget of £450 pounds including bills.

I know you might say, what the heck I am doing here. But actually, I registered on this forum to first hear from you about any flat offers and second to hopefully meet new friends in London. It would be great to build new friendly relships and go out and about, gimmicks etc. So yeah, happy to see a Filipino-UK forum where we can meet up and inform ourselves of latest events etc.

I am glad that you read my post. Thank you!

Congratulations on your gap-year placement in the South Bank. Our Capital City is an exciting place for a young person to live ... and I'm confident you will gain a lot from it in terms of enhancing your chosen vocation. :welcomex: to the *Filipino/UK Forum; *HERE, you'll have the opportunity of participating in the strong fellowship that exists between both nations. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hi Maxell, the cheapest accommodation areas for you to look with good tube connections would be around Leyton, Leytonstone and Walthamstow areas. I am presuming the £450 is a monthly figure. West ham and Plaistow would be good as well as you would feel really at home. More filipino`s there than some small cities in the Philippines.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Thanks for all the warm welcomes! Finding a place in London is a struggle. But, as Arthur Little claims, it is an "exciting place" to live in. So I am looking forward to all the challenges ahead of me. Some of my friends have suggested Leyton, so I might give that a shot (Thanks Pete). And for Sophie, Liane and Mick thank you!

try and find a house share with other filipinos like your self or get to met a few and rent the house yourselfs, its better than getting a bedsit plus you get some friends are well.
