hi everyone,
Im a little bit lost here and could use some help,I married my wife about 4 months ago to move to japan, however day after i got my visa a large teaching school i was going to work for went bankrupt and long story short my wife will move here with me instead. Problem being i gave up my job and flat etc in preparation for the move, i just moved into a new house and i've managed to get a (hopefully) temp to perm job. i have a few questions about getting my wifes visa sorted if anyone could offer some advice.
i had about 4k saved but due to a hefty deposit, buying furniture etc im down to just over 1k, my wife has savings about 15k i think. my job at the moment,im earning 17k,will our combined savings and my earnings be enough for us to pass the financial section of the visa application? also will the fact i left employment and started a new job look bad? i appreciate any help
thank you,

the main thing here is that you are working i think , having a steady income is very important and savings too, if you write it all down in a letter and explain it all that too should help , just wiat a little longer , there will be advice coming soon:)

Hi Spidey!
You need £2-3k savings and other members will tell you how to apply loan to put in your account as savings. You can use the search engine on the right top for more info.

I waited 6 consecutive months of my husband wage slips before I have submitted my application.:xxgrinning--00xx3: My husband is driving lorry and jumping from one truck to another that time.:Erm::D

No,it will only be the sponsors accommodation, other properties/business,payslips,bank statements that the ECO will be looking at so make sure it is all in healthy figures and with no overdrawn

What penny and SarsNV said is right.

Wait for about 6 months and your savings will be in better shape and so will your "payslips" situation

after that apply ... to avoid disappointment

There are cases where the applicant has had a large sum in the bank and can help with the partnerships finances. One case from a few years back where with out the pinay having i think 10 thousand dollars in savings while the husband was not doing so well by British standards it would be unlikely they got the Visa for the Wife.

Its just normally all that is looked at is the Sponsors bank details due to difference in western and phill finances in general.

Mention it in your cover letters which if you have a complicated situation ie you will be ok but it may not seem like it on the face of it should be detailed to show evidence that there will be no problem:)

But If a few months would make the situation look much better then its probably a good idea to wait so the ECO can make a tick that everything is ok.

Also regardless of visa applications I would advise all especially in todays climate where money is very tight and bills seem higher than ever. Dont take any risks it sounds like you should be ok with 15k in reserve. But as you know moving countries can be very costly and having 2 or 3k spare to help you both settle would be a minimum so I do feel its quite a sensible rule although very annoying for couples.
