When i was there living in the Philippines - in a cheap agricultural city 100 miles from Dumaguete (middle of nowhere) ...

my income from rent was £550 per month, and i was still rolling around in DEBT every month

My life is cheaper here than in the Philippines...

and it wasn't like i was a perpetual tourist or anything ... coz ... well ... me and the Mrs were homebirds ... and ... we had a couple of holidays, KL and Hong Kong, but ... nothing extravaganT!

So in a sense, for our lifestyle (a fairly lower middle class one) in the phils, we needed more than £550 per month :doh

Yes I do look after it although it's starting to look a bit tatty now.

It has to "come off" next year as it will have reached the 9 year limit the council allows to keep a car from new:rolleyes:

The company I work within is the largest taxi firm in harrogate,it's a shareholder company so I'm the boss:D (along with 83 others):icon_lol:

For me It's the best system as we are a large company so have lot's of muscle but also being self employed we can do pretty much as we wish.

For instance unlimited time off when we want although no pay of course.

We have most of the hotels,school contracts etc tied up too:)

I think this is the hardest part of working for yourself, it is great to take a month off to go the Philippines for example, but working 6 days a lot of weeks can grind you down after many months :Cuckoo::cwm3::doh

What i have tried to do and succeeded to some extent is to remain self employed but work in the framework of a large taxi firm.

With me being a shareholder I have a big say and how company is run plus I get any time i want off at a moments notice.

Of course I don't get paid for it but at least it's there if I want to take it:)

I work hard but also am lucky that I do very little night work now maybe just saturday and an odd friday thrown in.

Luckily we have nearly all the school contracts and a lot of disabled work too which helps all tho I am shafted now for the next 6 weeks:yikes:

Time to re-start the decorating for when the boss comes over :icon_lol::Jump:

At the end of the day tho you have to take time off and say stuff the money:D

Totally out of the blue sometimes I just say nope not today thank you lol.

It keeps me sane (debatable)
