Hello everyone. My name is Angelica. I'm from Taguig City, PH. I discovered this site through my boyfriend and I thought this could be a good place to share things with Filipinos living in UK. I was with my choir on our European tour last May to June and had the chance to meet my boyfriend in person in Amsterdam. Right now, he's pushing that I visit UK soon because he wants me to meet his parents. I have met them but only on web cam and phone.

We're not really in the hurry (well, I should be, I'm 36 and he's only 28 hahaha) but anyway, that was our original plan - for me to visit first and see if I'd like London, the people and the culture. But sometimes, ours frustrations to be together lead us to fighting with each other. We've only been apart a month but we are missing each other already that sometimes pushing me to come will end in fights. I really do like to come, more than anything in this world but we are not like some members here that can do it anytime. Life is hard here in the Philippines and in our situation, man and woman are 50-50. And it's my turn to show I can take care of myself - just one step to show that "this is it...we are serious."

After a few minutes on the phone with his mom, we decided to change our plans. As much as slow but surely is much advisable, it's hard to be apart again if we get together the second time :( so we started looking at sites. We discovered that some sites offering jobs in the Philippines got so many scammers, so instead, he did a search on sites from his side that are reliable and existing for many years. We narrowed down our search to places near him. It would be easier if I can have friends to ask about these things, how life is there as Filipinos, as foreigners, someone who just came there, as someone who's been there long time already etc.

Whatever we find, we'll try to work around it and see what is most advisable for me...us. I am an accountant and singer here but what I am primarily looking for is a nanny job for I discovered there are lots of opening for them. I'm also considering going on training school there when everything is settled to get proper license etc. It will be a big welcome if I connect with Filipino communities for I know, and it is my passion to be active in a community, being an ambassadress singing in concerts for OFWs.

If you think you can take me under your wings, exchange messages on tips (at ugali ng mga brits sssshhh), I would really be thankful ^_^

aryM and gparry..thanks! Why hasn't anyone reacted to my "ugali ng mga brit's" :icon_lol: I think I will scan the other threads regarding this.

It's really hard with my boyfriend >_< My lack of confidence is quite the opposite on his part. My baby is really cool. He kinda believes more in me than myself :doh I am this older girlfriend by eight years, loves quiet times and staying home. And here is my boyfriend who's into rapping and clubs and nightouts hahaha. Don't tell him I'm getting joint pains now ^_~

But hey, I wanna hear from the girls. Point me to the right thread coz I might miss it while I'm going around and reading so many stuff. Salamat!

about "ugali ng mga brits"...its like any other filipinos..meron mabait, merong hindi, may tahimik and others too loud..some are sweet some are not, some are generous, some are so tight..etc if u know what im trying to say :)..but one thing i noticed they dont really get themselves involve with someone elses trouble even within between families..they dont like long arguments unlike pinoys..paulit ulit..walang katapusan..they are very straight forward so dont be sensitive...they do love BBQ gathering with lots of beers and wines lol..someone correct me if my observations are wrong hehehe..

naku, i think my baby is different. maybe it depends where one is from noh? clubs ang hilig nitong akin, not into beers. kami super duper almost 5 hours na arguments. if he wants to drop me, then drop me. but we hold on. right now, we dont know what to do. i'd go on visit tour? find job? but i can't do that on a visit visa so i need to find work that will help me with permits.

and ang gastos just for me to visit :doh

if i'm going, that should be it...haaays ewan ko!
