Goalkeeper Paul Robinson retires from England duty just hours after being named in the squad for the friendly with Hungary.

I'm not surprised, took him ages to get his confidence back after "that" howler. I guess he doesn't want to risk going through that again.

Sounds a typical Robbo thing to do. I think he only ever made the England team as he came in from Kasey Keller at Spurs who was so bad it was untrue. The crowd took to him and he had pre "injury" Ledly king and Nayim in front of him for a season which made him look like an impressive Goalie after that it was all down hill.
Its a sad day in English football when is name is even mentioned in connection to the England GK postion:NoNo:

Carragher has quite a good record scoring for Tottenham:D

When Robbo scored agaisnt Watford that was agaisnt another England potnetial goalkeeper another who seems to be not quite as good as might be hoped lol

Good call but we need more than one decent goalie to keep him on his toes and for cover. Cant see any goalkeepers for years doing that:NoNo:
