I was surprised by this. I would have thought that the club would have got better value by keeping him as a player. In the final season of the contract perhaps Taylor would see this season as a good advert for himself.

I do not expect Newcastle to get relegated and I am glad they are back in the Prem. In my opinion, unless they have a huge debt which they are struggling to pay off, why try to push through a sale where they may only get £6,000,000 for him - I am sure he is worth more than that, but I doubt they will get full market value for him.

I would not complain if he came to Arsenal for £6-8 million, we need a confident defender still to partner Vermalen. Although I guess it really is early days with Koscielny.
