....from Paris. Got a teaching job after an interview. Start next week! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Does anybody know if it is true that it will be easier to get Hanna into France than into the UK??

Heartiest Congratulations, Al ... I'm so happy :BouncyHappy: for you, my friend, and wish you all the very best in your new teaching appointment.

As regards the prospect of your bringing Hanna over to France ... :Erm: ... I don't really know how the French Immigration System works, but I've a feeling it's more flexible than our own; it'll certainly be GREAT for you if my hunch is correct! I'm wondering if maybe Joe could advise in this respect? Please keep in touch.

You usually find using a 3rd party country is easier Al.

Good luck with the job... Achtung Englander....

Good news Al..Congrats..
There`s a thread here about Belgian farmers bringing their wives over from P.I and they seem to be able to do it in months..I think one of them is on their 3rd..
Seems like it could be a much simpler route...Go for it!:xxgrinning--00xx3:
Just the one though eh!!:icon_lol:

congrats al !!!!

as for the second question, i got my visit visa from the uk embassy in just one day.. however, it took almost 2 weeks for me to get my schengen visa from the italian embassy and they just give us a very limited time to travel (30 days).. unlike the uk, they gave us 6 months visa validity...

dont know which one is the best but you can get it either way if you will provide them with all the supporting papers

good luck! take care :)

Good news Alan, at last your luck is turning.
Don't know about the 2nd part of your question, but should imagine it's easier than the UK?

yes Al, family permit time as you will be exercising your treaty rights - its virtually your legal right to take her to France :D, get settled in France (place to live and some pay slips) then apply for a family permit for her from the french embassy in Manila, get her to France and later on (6 months later+) you shouldn't have a problem bringing her back to the UK ( using http://www.ncadc.org.uk/archives/filed%20newszines/oldnewszines/Old%201-50/news17/don.html) what's more the family permit is free :D

Thank you SO much everybody for your replies and good wishes. I am running round like a madman now trying to get everything ready for my departure on Monday.
Tuesday I have to prepare my classroom, Wednesday is staff meeting and meet the parents and Thursday is the first day of term!!!
I'm a bit worried about my accommodation though - I mean - if you imagine a room - a very small room - then halve it!!!! I mean, it's smaller than what I lived in at university!!!!!!!

A SPECIAL thanks to you, Joe, for the information you have given me - you are the best!!!

As you all probably know - I am doing this because I want my wife!!! I want her with me!!!!
