I'm going to get prepaid credit card to take with me when i go to philippines

and was wondering which would be better or if there any difference at all

i don't think there is much difference, but i hardly ever use my mastercard and always use my visa card :rolleyes:

:anerikke: ... either OR, really. But IF, for any reason, you decide to extend your stay, then be SURE to notify your bank - to eliminate any possibility of your card(s) being *blocked :cwm24: by an ATM ... as happened to me during my second visit! :doh

Good point Arthur, with some banks its actually worth notifying them before you leave that you'll be using the card abroad. When I was with Barclays a few years ago they put a stop on my card after the first withdrawal.

Just dont let it out of your sight, My first visit to Phils a couple of years ago was amazing, until I got home and found out I had bought 7000gbp of things whilst in Phils, mobile phones, cameras and strangely a bed!!! :doh I had only used my cards in nice hotels yet id bought all this stuff in cities id not even visited, lesson learned though

thats why i try and always pay with cash, even in the UK i hardly ever use me cards, only really thru pay pal.
