My Girlfriend wants to get her first passport

She was born in the Mindanao and moved to Cebu 6 years ago her mother is from here

1)She has a late registor N.S.O. birth certificate 2005

2)A N.B.I. clearance current

3)A Barangay clearance current

4)A postal I.D.

Old school certificates and baptism certs with slightly diferent spelling of her name

Can she apply and get a passport here in Cebu with these Docs?

Is there a requirement to visit Manila?

Keith ... I would've thought your girlfriend could apply for a passport at any of the Regional DFA offices - without the need to travel to Manila - as Myrna got hers in Davao City in September 2008 after a wait of only 15 working days. Hope this helps. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

They dont accept Postal Id. She need to bring her SSS ID, Drivers License, Voters ID, NBI Clearance. If she has just only NBI clearance, she will need to produce more supporting documents. I cant understand why they dont honor the Postal ID as it is a government issued ID. :NoNo:
If she is a registered voter but does not have a ID she will need to bring her voters tab or voters registration.
Yearbook when she graduated, and yes diplomas will help also.
If she has land under her name or business she need to provide that also. And an ITR.
It is better for her to also submit some western union or any money transfer receipt stated her info such as name address and birthdate.
Ohh and police clearance also...
Applying passport here is like applying for a visa now  If she does not have that required ID's....

I can meet your gf and help her with her passport. It is not bad as how she make it sound. NBI Clearance which cost Php150 and Baptismal Cert, SECPA birth certificate enough for her to apply for Passport. I know so because I've helped some people I've meet for free to get their ever first passport. That is because my cousin works there too which makes every thing quick :)

Just like to help people around Arthur. Makes me happy to know that I have a fellow filipino able to travel and see the other side of the world to appreciate the diversities of cultures and other important things. It makes someone love their own. I am thankful my mum let me travel on my own when I was only 18 to China!

no requirement to visit manila 4 passport application, just go to any DFA office in your area. the only problem you have is in correct spelling mistake on any documents your gf submits and certaintly baptismal certificate. she needs to get it corrected as they will not do the application, to issue passport. but ther again a few peso to the right person can get it sorted, like most problems you come up againts with documents in rp...

Hi Jane, the DFA don't term it as amendment anymore. She needs to bring Marriage Cert authenticated by NSO or if she have the SECPA paper the better. All she need to is go to DFA and have her passport renewed/amended and ask for the form where it will allow her to change the surname.

PS- bring updated passport size photos as well and money for the fees.

Jane,

I sent you a PM. The CFO cert is given to those who are ready to live the country and you will need passport for this not the other way around.

There is no sense of getting a CFO when you don't even have a passport. When you will up the forms for CFO you are required to fill the passport document number... so it is not possible that DFA will require CFO cert.

Your friend can get her passport in Davao City Consular Office to be cost wise. Because if she will get her passport here in Cebu she needs to come back again to pick it up.

ur right...if someone is married to a foreigner and who is going to use their foreign spouse name they need a CFO certificate....

im lucky though when i applied to change my name in the passport they didn't ask me that...probably they forgot to ask but lots of people i know were been asked.
