Hello to all the lovely members here!!!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I just wanna ask to those who got their ILR recently with a (FLR)residence permit biometric ID, did the Home Office stamped on your passport or were you given a new ILR ID?

You see- My FLR visa will expire on Oct 24,2011, so will be applying 28 days before the said date, right?
My passport will expire on April 2012:doh

I just wanna know so will think about renewing my passport before I apply for the visa--but its 6 months valid though, :D but don't want hassles in applying for a transfer of stamp..:doh. But if it's ID no need to worry to renew it early:D

Also, when you apply for the visa-did you include the old passport?

It's a bit early to think about it- but just wanted to be prepared for the next application:doh:D
Thanks in advance--:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I just checked my wife's old passports.

For ILR, unless things have changed significantly, you will get a Residence Permit 'label' that they physically 'stick' on a page in your passport. It's was not a stamp like FLR. The validity will be Indefinite.

My wife had her FLR stamped in her passport, then renewed it (the passport) 7 months before ILR.
The FLR was not transferred. FLR has a valid until date anyway.
Your passport is renewed by Phil Embassy, they cannot do anything with FLR. This was never any problem for us at that time. If you will be travelling take both passports.

When my wife applied ILR she was required to include all old passports.

This relates to 2006 by the way.
Wow, time moves so fast.

Thanks Terpe!!

I have no FLR stamp in my passport. I just got a FLR biometric ID last year.
I'd better renew my passport before I apply for ILR so no more hassles in the future..

Do you need to go to Phil Embassy London to renew it? How much is it? What documents to bring? Do u need to get an appointment or walk in is just fine?
How long is the process?

Thanks again..Have a nice day...:xxgrinning--00xx3::D:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Take a look here:-

The embassy is now very easy to get to and whenever we have been they have been very helpful and efficient. (Unlike before)

Just be sure you have the correct Photo as the rules changed. Although if the photos are not acceptable there is a shop just up the road
