In principle Nigel you are correct, normally not funny but.......
One time (maybe 25 years ago) I had a collision with a sofa :doh
It was a very windy day and this sofa just blew out in front of me. I hit it:doh
Then the guy behind me hit me! :doh
I can tell you it was touch and go with the insurance. But they paid out EVENTUALLY!!

By the way did you ever hear Jasper Carrot on insurance claims for car accidents?
