I've already started posting but I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. My name is (surprise, surprise) Paul, I'm 28 and I'm currently living in Quezon City in Manila. Would be good to get in contact with some expats here to find out the best places to see premiership football etc. It seems no one is remotely interested in the game here. It is just pure pacman-mania at the moment!

Also would be good to get in contact with some nice Filipinas in Manila who are maybe interested in haning with a British guy? :)

Hi Paul and welcome, hope you're enjoying yourself out there. I did once find an English bar in Boracay that showed the Premier League, but it's probably too far for you to go out for a quick bucket of San Mig.

Will do. At worst, there is a website that currently has downloads of full games. Usually only ones that have been on the TV in the UK though. Still, useful for that late afternoon or evening games which I won't be getting up for!

And thanks everyone for the welcome.

Hey Paul,

So here is your newbie thread eh?

So some places I frequent to watch the games (it helps that most of these places, if not all, actually has the games schedule posted by the door of the pub) These are all located in Makati though.

- Murphy's (www.muphysmakati.com) This is the ONLY Irish Pub in Manila, or in the Philippines! Good pub food, and not located by the red light distrcit in Makati. Real shame nowhere in the Philippines can you find any Guinness by tap. March is coming up - they have some specials and 'festivals' for St. Patrick's Day. At one point, they even had 'leprechauns' and also a real Celtic band (The Travelling Celts) also foudn their way and played there. Always fun is the Tuesday night for their Trivia Nights. Good place to have a real nice and heavy breakfast as well, or have Sunday roast.

- Heckle & Jeckle (www.heckleandjeckle.org) Ok, so this is located by the red light district near P.Burgos. There are pool tables, and they also have a big screen outside. This place was so popular during the recently concluded World Cup. They used to charge Php300 door charge during the WC (you get 4 drinks stubs) but it's good value already anyway as San Mig Light already costs Php100/beer. They have a shawarma station outside too. There are some nights where there's live music, etc. It is open until late. The latest I stayed here was until 8am - during the WC. :)

- Handle Bar (www.handlebar.com.ph) Also known as a biker pub. This is located on the same street where H&J is - you just need to walk till the end of the street! The place has got alot of TV screens and big screens. I don't frequent Handle Bar as I mostly go to H&J to meet friends. Unlike H&J, this place did not charge any 'entrance fee' during the WC - still, there were only a few of these places, so both pubs were unbelievably packed especially during the big games i.e. England games. :) Although yes, England did s***e, that's a different topic altogether.

- Howzat Sports Bar - Can't find the website for this place. They also have some billiard tables, and it is along Kalayaan Ave., just a short walk from Rockwell. I don't get to go to this place at all, as I often frequent either H&J or Murphy's :)

Hope this helped!
And btw, it's Leeds - Arsenal right now. Leeds is one up Arsenal

Thanks for that. I've heard of a couple of them but I haven't really ventured that much out of the area yet. I mainly head down the Metrowalk for drinks etc. I really should get down Murphy's given I'm of Irish parentage. The food menu looks good too.

O'Flannigan's? Well...I sadly have not been to Davao - however, a quick Google search - and apparently it's been closed for atleast 2 yrs now.
