Havent been on for a while, been kicking around in the boonies(whick isnt all its cracked up to be)anyway, now have a globe-dongle so logged on,looked for continuations of certain stories,Birth,Death, and Marriage sort of stuff, looked for Northerner as I was uber-certain he would be wrapped up in happily wedded bliss at this time, blow me sideways,Northerner was BANNED:yikes:one of the forums most inoffensive members was no longer around?Checked Pennybarry to see how her summer had fared, gadzooks methinks Dom had been working overtime with the "BAN" button as Pen was also wala-na:omg:the list of persona non grata was expanding as I discovered Florge and several others were also deleted members,I checked on Dom as power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, but found maybe his finger had developed a cyber-stutter and accidentally self-deleted as Dom was also a casualty:yikes:What happened?

The user Tawi2 thought that he too was getting banned and went over all of his old posts and modified them all to a ".", so if you go over those closed threads, his replies and thread starters are nothing but dots.. He then left the forum, never to post again.
a post from northerner on another forum :Erm: about people being banned

Thats rigiht to be honest Joe,I was a newbie, never tried to be rude or abusive to anyone, but I did think I was going to be banned because sometimes I dont put my words across correctly:dohStupidity was hereditary in my family and I got my fair share of the genetics(classic example earlier this week I set a chinese floating lantern off into the sky,I didnt hold it long enough to fully inflate,it burst into flames and crashed onto a nipa-hut,luckily for me it landed on the tin roof of the kasilyas instead of the that):bigcry:But I havent spoken to N since I came here, early this year,he was alive and kicking back then, one of lifes decent guys I think, dont understand the bannings but I will don my tin-hat in case of flak:icon_lol:what forum did he post that on?I left the site because I have been kicking-about.

yes the Chinese lanterns, fire and Chinese should not mix, i was going to get the kids some for bonfire night but thought they might set somewhere on fire :yikes:
i've been on here a long time, people come and go, people fall out, some get banned, but i'm aware of the reasons why some people get banned and the aftermath of it, the threats and abuse from some of those who have been banned :NoNo:
and the real reasons why some people are no longer on here, its nothing to do with being banned, or falling out with anyone, sometimes they just no longer have the time or have moved on (like the 1,000s of registered users who no longer log on here or any other forum)

Still think roadside bomb is more descriptive
Tawi2
16th November 2010, 08:13
Considering my age Sim LILF would have been more appropriate as in lola I would like to fondle or fornicate with:olddude::olddude:Your right Les,it would be easier and more descriptive for the majority just to label them roadside bombs,I saw a poster this morning in Gensan warning of IED's showing a rusty tin-can with a Nokia taped to it as a detonating device.

Hi Tawi2, I used to work in Al Khobar (nr. Dhahran, Sau'di Arabia).
They must have named themselves after this place:
from Wiki:
The Khobar Towers bombing was a terrorist attack on part of a housing complex in the city of Khobar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khobar), Saudi Arabia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Arabia), located near the national oil company (Saudi Aramco (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Aramco)) headquarters of Dhahran (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhahran). In 1996, Khobar Towers was being used to house foreign military personnel.
On June 25, 1996, per official statement, individuals identified as members of Hezbollah Al-Hejaz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hezbollah_Al-Hejaz) (Party of God in the Hijaz)[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khobar_Towers_bombing#cite_note-FBI-Khobar.KSA_.2C_Towers_Bombings-0)[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khobar_Towers_bombing#cite_note-1) by the United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States), exploded a sewage truck packed with explosives adjacent to Building #131 in the housing complex. This eight-story building housed United States Air Force (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Air_Force) personnel from the 4404th Wing (Provisional), primarily from a deployed rescue squadron and deployed fighter squadron. In all, 19 U.S. servicemen and one Saudi[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khobar_Towers_bombing#cite_note-FBI-Khobar.KSA_.2C_Towers_Bombings-0) were killed and 372 of many nationalities were wounded.

So these Al Khobar knuckledraggers are part Muslim Terrorist part Criminal Extortion gang, I wonder if in the depths of Mindanao they use the British presence in Afghanistan as justification for their murderous actions - maybe Mr Shark would give us the benefit of his considered opinion ?
