Why no photos of yourself and family?
Why no posts relating to them?
How did you meet for example?
You post so much here, why such secrecy?

Why the interest Apo? We should respect others right to privacy. I have no photo's of myself or family on here either, and no surpises, I wasn't called Englishman2010 by my parents:)

Hi Englishman2010,
Thanks for the comment.
You post on many Fil-Brit issues, as do most people here.
Dedworth never posts on anything to do with Fil-Brit topics, now maybe I'm wrong here but I did think this was a FilipinoUK forum.
I asked this question before and some people gave me rep for this, and I thank them for that.
So others not quite so visible as me are wondering the same thing.
I think everyone should have the right to post on topics that they are interested in, but surely these posts should at least be accompanied by ones that pertain to the modus operandi of this forum.
I frankly find it astonishing that someone would spend so much time posting about everything BUT Fil-Brit subjects.
These continuous threads on politics are very depressing to me and others.
As someone who sent me a private message said "I've often wondered that myself".
I think these comments are legitimate.

Everybody is entitled to have their privacy..I'm sure not all or most of the people here aren't called with their user names..and there are people here who don't post about Fil-Brit subjects either..being in the forum and in a Fil-Brit relationship doesn't mean we have to talk only about that..that's why there are different sections of the forum where we can post certain subjects we want to discuss or just share to others..:)

Hi Rayna,
There are many other forums on every interest imaginable on the internet that have main titles such as Religion/Politics for example.
Then the people that are interested in those threads can delve deeper.
When I visit Filipino UK I see Dedworth's political posts all the time, I don't want to see any of his posts.
How can I do this?

i'll not publish pics on here or any social web site of me or my family for privacy reasons.
if i google my surname and look at the images, the very first picture is of my wife from her face book account :NoNo:
i've been a victim of ID theft before
its dedworths right Aposhark to have his views (and he's not the only one to have similar views), whether you agree with him or not thats freedom of speech, at least we have that here, unlike many countires :NoNo:
if you dont like what he posts as others have said ignore it and move on, you've got a beautiful wife and daughter to spend time with :xxgrinning--00xx3:

I agree with this
This site is in the public domain and read by others apart from members of this forum. Means individual privacy and security is an important issue that impacts different members in different ways.
This thread could have worded without mentioning names
(eg why do people not ...)
Threads such as this will have the tendancy to bait people
Personally I believe it's important to choose when to communicate publicly versus privately.
If the situation is personal (ie you have an issue with someone else), then send an pm explaining your view of the situation, try not to read peoples minds and interpret everything they write
None of us can become better people when we taunt and bully others in a public setting.
I earnestly urge members not to continue this thread .

Bit of a strange thread to be honest, its Dedworths right to put as little or as much personal detail on here as he feels comfortable with, freedom of speech and all that:rolleyes:

I might not agree with a lot dedworth says but if he has gone to a remembrance parade then hes not forgotten the scarifices many people made and paid with their lives so we can sit here :NoNo:
dedworth puts me to shame, because i should know better :NoNo: my mother and father lived under the nazi's and russians, my father joined the russian army to fight the nazi's, and they escaped to come to the UK because of the freedoms that they had lost and the murder of 1/3 of citizens of the Baltics :cwm24:

Hi Aposhark,
Dedworth does like his Threads on politics but I guess that is his passion, like many I guess he gets annoyed people beat the system when many of us have struggled to comply and jump though hoops. Dedworth does post on Phill matters I can remember posts from him advising people on going to Hounslow barrio etc. Also on various ways to contact phill and sending boxes home. WHich are subjects i can remember him talking about on from the top of my head.
I guess like Me he refers to keep himself and his family details fairly private As do many others on here while others are happy to show pictures etc..
To be honest in the Brit Phill community I think for some its better to keep a low profile on here for the Wifes benefit in case it causes gossip somehow.

Likewise, I have made every effort to keep my identity private on Google, and I have never used my name on here although others have referred to it. Fortunately, there is a musician with the same name as me, and he always occupies the top 100 or so searches on Google.

True especially with Facebook etc as its only deleted from sight not deleted from their servers from what I understand.
Many people are going to need to create new identities they think in the future due to the information trail they create when young n foolish they predict. One of the most famous people to come out with this is one of the people behind Google..

I've not bothered replying to these inane comments as I believe other common sense posters have expressed matters adequately (my thanks to those members) ie right to privacy, it's up to me what I choose to post or not post (subject to complying with forum rules).
With the number of 'ner do wells using the net for illegal purposes I do worry about privacy/identity theft etc and that is also my reason for not using social networking sites. Your strange accusation that "he never posts on anything to do with Fil-Brit topics" has been shown to be groundless. You posted a similar thread 5 days ago titled "Dedworth, who are you?" which was heavily moderated then locked so why try the same tack again ? Do you have some ridiculous theory that a member has a greater status on the forum the more personal data, photo's etc are posted ?
For the sake of your blood pressure I would strongly urge you to click on my user name, then click view profile, then click "Add to ignore list"

I don't know what the english term for that kind if attitude... but we filipinos knows it we call it "usyusiro or usyusira" Maybe rayna knows it? I couldn't think of the english counterpart at the moment.
And I am dedworth, it is our right.
Unless aposhark is ready too much of conspiracy novels that raises him to ask the identity of dedworth. But for sure it is a common sense for everyone here in the forum.

It is unfortunate that the ignore button does leave annoying messages and reminders but after a while you will learn to ignore them!! (with a little discipline)
Another thing to keep in mind is that others will quote your ignored poster from time to time which again takes discipline on the part of the ignoree not to read..
About 6 months ago I had 4 on my ignore list..I did try to add a moderator to that list at the time but unfortunately the system didn't allow it.
I totally agree with what other members have had to say about privacy and hell will freeze over before photos or details of my kids are published anywhere on the internet.
also, like Mr Bloggs..My real name is not Fred!

Les, I have respect for our armed forces, but not the political system which makes these forces invade countries with insufficient reason and lies :NoNo:
With massive military might.
We went into N.Ireland and ultimately negotiated with "the enemy".
We will do this in Afghanistan too, I see we are already secretly negotiating with the Taliban, depending if you believe what is being written and what news filters out.
We will leave there with our tails between our legs, as so many others (including the UK) has done before :NoNo:
And for what? To find Bin Laden or to try to subjugate a foreign country with our beliefs.
Our "way of life" is here NOT in Afghanistan :NoNo:
When I see coffins coming off planes in Brize Norton I could cry.
This is not a "way of life", it is a "way of death" :bigcry:
