Here is my experience on filing my Fiancee Visa.

Me and my Fiance met in Filipinaheart website, after a few days of chatting our feelings were developed and became more and more attracted and inlove with each other. I cant even help myself not to see him online everyday and not seeing him on cam. After 7months of our communication and relationship he did decided to visit me here in Cebu, Philippines. The feelings were mutual and when I saw him in person I realized that he is really destined for me. He is very loving, caring and accepted my daughter, he even act like a father of her. By the way, my daughter's father is a filipino to add up :). He then flew back to Scotland after his first visit here in 3weeks and we planned to file my fiancee visa. After 3 weeks of processing his requirements he did flew back again to submit all the requirements and was so happy that he proposed to me on his 2nd visit at the airport haha! and Im now engaged!. We processed our application through an agency, they asked me to provide this following:

1.) NSO Birth certificate
2.) Copy of your local birth certificate
3.) NSO CENOMAR (Certificate of no marriage)
4.) Baptismal certificate
5.) NBI Clerance (purpose is to travel Europe)
6.) 20 pieces pictures together
7.) Passport ( the new one)
8,) If you have a child please submit a NSO Birth certificate of your child

And for my Fiance:

1.) CERTIFIED TRUE COPY OF YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE
2.) HOW YOU MEET STATEMENT ( IT SHOULD BE DETAILED)
3.) FIRST PAGE COPY OF PASSPORT- CERTIFIED TRUE COPY
4.) STAMPS OF PORT OF ENTRIES – CERTIFIED TRUE COPY
5.) PHOTOCOPY OF ITINERARY OF TRAVEL DURING THE VISIT
6.) PHOTOCOPY OF TICKET STUBS IF ANY
7.) BANK STATEMENTS FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS AND SAVINGS ACCOUNT
8.) MORTGAGE STATEMENT OR RENTAL ( LEASE AGREEMENT) OF YOUR HOME
9.) LETTER OF EMPLOYMENT TO CONFIRM THAT YOU ARE EMPLOYED
10.) SALARY STATEMENT FOR PAST 6 MONTHS
11.) P60 TAX STATEMENT OF EARNINGS (MOST RECENT)
12.) LAND TITLES
13.) CAR REGISTRATION
14.) EMAILS AND HAND WRITTEN LETTERS FROM YOUR FIANCEE
15.) PHONE BILLS
16.) HAND WRITTEN LETTER OF SUPPORT ADDRESSED TO FIANCEE ( A LETTER TELLING HER THAT YOU WILL SUPPORT HER FINANCIALLY, EMOTIONALLY,PHYSICALLY, ALL KINDS OF SUPPORT WHEN SHE’S ALREADY IN UK.
17.) COVERING LETTER WRITTEN BY YOU ADDRESSED TO THE ENTRY CLEARANCE OFFICE, BRITTISH EMBASSY MANILA THAT YOU WISH TO APPLY AN ENTRY CLEARANCE FOR YOUR FIANCE.

After 3days of the CFO Seminar which is Friday (Nov. 05,2010), I went to Manila to lodge all our application. I got a text message from VFS that my application has been dispatched to the British Embassy on Monday (Nov. 08,2010), I was very excited if what will be the result on it, on Wednesday (Nov. 10) got a text message from them that the processed visa application has been couriered with the application number via 2go, I was very excited and felt like I had a butterflies in stomach every minute of that day, I cant even sleep of thinking about it! but Alas! I was so happy that I got a good result after that day, my Fiancee Visa has been approved in just only 2 days!.:Jump::Jump:

I went directly to CFO office because of my excitement that I got the visa and so that I can get a sticker from them, I was very disappointed :NoNo: because they said that they cant stamp my passport because the visa is not yet valid until the day of January 15th, 2011. I was arguing by the officer encharge because why they cant stamp/put a sticker on it since the visa is already there!, I just got an answer that your visa is not yet valid .:angry: they can put a sticker on it during the validity period of my visa, the only problem I got is, we booked a flight already! and there is no office in Cebu on Saturday! how can I manage this?? they advised me that you can go to Manila CFO branch office since it is inside the Airport and is operating 24 hours, but how can I manage? if my flight from Cebu-Manila is 900-10:06am and my next flight from Manila-Manama is 12:05pm, I have to look for big NAIA International airport and look for their office first there, imagine?? looking around inside the airport with my 4 year old daughter with me, thats ridiculous!... but good thing that I knew it early and now Im done moving my scheduled flight, instead of January 15th I moved it on January 18th which is Tuesday, I think I can surely get a stamped sticker on it .

My advise to you guys is, if you got the visa and you still dont have CFO sticker stamped on your passport DO NOT book a flight first, it is a big hassle on your part and so much wasting of money. Im just worried of my Fiance because he spent big amount on this matter.

And now, my problem is the travelling ticket agency told me that before I book a flight for my daughter I have to get a REDUCE TAX TRAVEL CERTIFICATE in Department of Tourism before they can book a flight for my daughter and there is a processing fee for 280pesos in DOT and 800pesos to the travel agency, which is all in all cost us to pay 1080pesos for that. I wondered why we have to pay for that certificate?? :Erm::Erm:

Thank you so much for the advises here too, it did really help me a lot. For those who still on the process of their visa application, dont worry, it will approve as long as you have trust in Him I know He will help us. Im just so happy that I got my visa now, when me and my daughter will arrive in UK I know this is just a beginning of our life. Please wish me luck for my travel guys!!.:Jump::Jump::Jump:

Hello Faye_and_Brian,

Thanks for the tips, it's very helpful. I'll be applying for a spouse visa early next year.
Just wondering, how many hours would it take for the CFO Seminar? And how much did it cost? And where is it located?
Thanks in advance.

In my experience, I went very early in CFO Cebu Office because only 15 applicants they will accomodate in a day if you are very late then they will just re-schedule you the following day. It took for me 7hours for the seminar, I went there 7:00am eventhough the office starts at 8:00am, take note secure photocopy of your passport and photocopy of your Fiance's Passport because they will be asking that, bring some photos of you too. In my case during the one by one consultation she asked me some photos serve as an evidence that you have met in person, she took the group picture with my family photos, she asked too about the divorce papers of my Fiance.

When the seminar starts, they will give you a form to fill-up first about your infos and your fiance's info, pay 250pesos in information area then wait for the seminar to start. We were 3 UK applicants there and after the group discussion. They will let us step outside and wait to call one by one for the consultation and they will ask some questions, maybe they wanted to verify that you really know your partner that much and make it sure that you dont have any mistakes to answer it, you have to know much your partner so that they will give you the green certificate. If you have a visa already you can then proceed to their separate office in which in my case its in Cebu near DFA but still I have to wait for the validity period of my visa before they stamp it. I paid 400pesos in advance for the stamp, so in total you will be paying 650pesos for the CFO certificate including the stamp and then you are ready to fly.

I will be very glad by helping others too atleast they are prepared on what to do next. I still cant believe it that they approve my visa in 2 days. I was never eaten so good by that time our papers lodge to British Embassy and now I can breath easily and my mind is very peaceful. You know the feelings of fullfillment. Its not so easy applying visa all we have to say to the other applicants is goodluck and give some advises. My problem now is travelling with my 4 year old daughter Im sure she will not feeling so well especially 10hours travelling in an airplane haha...

Faye, Congratulations on your successful application. I am curious about how you have arranged to bring your daughter on a Fiancee visa though? Could you provide some details please? Does your daughter have the fathers surname? This is the situation with my girlfriend and I am concerned that she may not be able to bring her children as she and the kids are supported by her ex (who she was never married to, but that doesn't seem to matter to Uk immigration), so I don't know how we prove she is the sole guardian?

Sorry MarkR I just got online, was very busy this past few days.. anyway, during the time I processed visa application I already included the requirements of my daughter so that there is no hassles. My daughters'name has her fathers Surname but it doesnt matter though because in my daughters' authenticated birth certificate it is stated that we are not married and as long as your CENOMARS' (Certificate of No Married) girlfriend is stated not legally married then it is no problem at all, but my situation is, I dont have any contacts with her father for almost 2 years and he doesnt give any support even just a penny to his daughter, it doesnt matter on me though because I dont like having a communication with him too. My advise is, when you file visa application just include her daughter if you have any plans to bring her with you.

You need to get married and apply for FLR (Further leave to remain) ASAP and long before the expiry of the Fiancee Visa. Do you already have English Test pass certificate?

Wishing you all good luck for the English Test. Hopefully someone who has actually taken it may reply to you, but there have been a number of posts here indicating that the test is very basic. Other people have suggested that if you are posting on here you should be OK.

Don't forget to apply FLR asap after wedding he he :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Regarding the marriage certificate:-

I may be out of date with my information, but it used to be the case that you could request up to 3 marriage certificates (Authorised copies) for just that sort of need. Better to check yourself but that would be best way to some 'spares'.
Whatever documents you send for FLR will be returned to you. Just be sure to send by a secure method (recorded delivery or registered delivery)

For the Schengen visa to visit Spain, you will need to prebook an appointment and personally attend the application process. All documents will be validated and copied during this process and returned to you. It used to be that you will need to wait about 2-3 weeks for the visa in your passport.
Good luck with the Schengen Visa.
