i am sure that most of us have seen that a large number of people in philippines are born with facial marks .
my wifes 7 year old nephew has what is like a bith mark on his face at the side of his nose but is more like a black blister.
he is getting some bullying at school so i am wondering if anyone on the site has had the experience of someone having this kind of thing removed .
i am thinking of how much is the cost ,,because i am wondering if i can pay for it to save the poor lad from problems but i have no idea of the cost ,,,any ideas???????

Not sure if this is of any help, but quite often while walking around the various malls, you see stands that are advertising mole and blemish removal/laser traetment. I have never looked into the cost or implications of removing such a condition and I am not qualified to advise one way or another, but next time you are there, keep your eyes open for these people.

Maybe the Doc can give an insight into what causes these and possible after/side effects of removal.

There are various types of birthmarks which are either pigmented (usually brown) or vascular ( red, pink, or purple). They are not hereditary and the cause is unknown, in most cases. To my knowledge they are actually less common in Philippines compared to UK.
Large pigmented birthmarks / "moles" may be pre-cancerous, in which case there is a clinical reason for removal (here, on the NHS). In most cases it's cosmetic (requiring private treatment). Surgery (with or without grafting) or laser treatment may be needed.
From your description clearly I can't say what kind of birthmark this is, nor advise on the cost of removal.
