my fiance and her daughter was very ill with the flu and fever as well over the last few days

There's an entire thread on this forum called "Coughs, colds and flu" which is in the "Living in the UK , Tips & Advice" section.
Of course you can also get all three in the Philippines.
If it really is flu then you need paracetamol and bed rest. Both are very cheap. Take care :xxgrinning--00xx3:.
