Firstly happy new year everyone and thanks to all for the help and advice.

My wife will be attending the GCC sticker and CFO stamp in the next week or two.

At this point she will have
CFO sticker
GCC Certificate
Spouse Visa / Passport.

Our five month old daughter already has a British passport (direct from IPS/Embassy) even though she has never been in the uk. will she need any other form of documentation? she has a philippines birth certificate does she need to be registered in any other way before leaving the country?

I intend to go to phil to pick them up as i want to be there if the border agency gets picky. Question is - have i covered everything?!

Thanks
Paul

hi Paul,

I read your thread about the trouble of applying for spouse Visa. I am having the same problem as the ECO thinks the possbility of access the public funds. I am working as a part-time at the moment, however i do have over £15K of saving... and only £100 of mortgage per month. They also think our marriage is not real as the ECO thinks the marriage certificate provided is a photocopies... in fact, it is issued by the offical marriage registrar with an offical stamp at the back.....however the ECO didnt notice it.
We appeal on the 11th Dec and they said it could take upto 3 months or 60 working days. Is anything i can do at this point to speed up the decision making. such as Local MP or as you mentioned before try to contact the ECM and explain the situation?? any comments would be appreciated.

regards

HI paul,

I tried to reply to this post, however it doesnt seem to work...

First of all, congrat. to your success on the Spouse VISA.

I am having the same problem with my wife s spouse visa. The application was refused on the 1st DEC and we appealed on the 14th DEC, and we have heard nothing from them, apart from 3 months waiting. I read your thread about contacting the embassy and spoke to the person in charge. Is it worth it to do so? Is any other things I could do at this point such as contacting the local MP..etc
The reason of refusal is they think our marriage certificate is a photocopies, in fact, it is an official duplicate copy from the marriage registrar with an official stamp at the back….. however the ECO didn’t even see the stamp. Based on this, the ECO thinks our marriage is not real. On the top of that, I am working part time at the moment, and the ECO thinks I would get access to public funds… sometime that I never do in my life.. I have a very small mortgage of 100pounds per month and with over £15K saving.. and they still think I will access to public funds??? Having say that, I didn’t provide the latest bank statement when I applied… but now I did with the appeal form.

Is it worth it to contact the local MP and write a letter to confirm I never access the public funds before?? It has been very stressful to sort out this and it is just a waiting game…
Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Regards
