alan/maleiya and alanmf1,
Very best wishes to both your ladies.
I think what makes it worse is the pressure of it all.
Good luck to both

Hello, Good luck with the results!!
My girl is from Davao, so I'm guessing the CDO centre with be her nearest (unless anyone can tell me of a centre in Davao)
I've got a few questions:-
1) Can you please tell me what the test consisted of?
2) Is it a case of contacting the centre and arranging a date to sit the test?
3) Any preparation required?
4) Is it just a test to sit or is there formal classroom training beforehand?
Many thanks..........

Hello alan/maleiya,
I'm just wondering, they said that you can get your results for reading, writing and listening immediately after the test and the result for the speaking would take 10 days, why does your wife doesn't have her results yet?

The UKBA lists the approved test providers. The test providers will have test centres around the world. You need to contact the test providers on the UKBA list to see what test centres they have near you.

Heya guys!I jus took the test last Feb 17 and i only reviewed for about 3 straight days non stop practicing and reading just to refresh my english language skills...Yesterday i had my speaking test and the british interviewer from the british council told me i did quite good.(Thank god!) I took the General module so it was really easy and a bit challenging actually. But one should realy need to practice since its time limit.Practice the listening, reading and writting letters and essay(general).Your wife should think in english at all times and actually study basic grammar(elementary english) then you're good to go. Test results are delivered 13 days after the test and she can also view it online,in my case the british council. The test cost about 8,640 pesos.I took the test here in Cebu...
Your wife need not to worry and not also underestimate the General module Test coz it can be very difficult as well if she didnt review or practice.

This requirement was introduced on 29 November 2010. You must meet the requirement if:
* you are a national of a country outside the European Economic Area and Switzerland; and
* you are in a relationship with a British citizen or a person settled here; and
* you want to apply to enter or remain in the UK as that person's husband, wife, civil partner, fiance(e), proposed civil partner, unmarried partner or same-sex partner.

Question for Joe The wife arrived here December 6 2009 on a spouse visa. Apart from having to take the life in the UK TEST does she need to set the English test as well before she applies for ILR ? She was asking me last night. Could you post a link as well just to put our minds at rest. Thank you Joe :D:xxgrinning--00xx3:

The new requirement applies to applications for entry clearance, leave to enter, leave to remain and further leave to remain. It does not apply to indefinite leave to remain or citizenship applications where the existing Knowledge of Life requirement continues to apply.

i dont think they would test minors (anyone under 18) as you've said they would usually be a dependent, and what ever happens visa to their parent would apply to them to:rolleyes:
