Some local working for VFS probably got the idea that they could grab a few extra peso from the desperate, the important point here is -

It won't make a blind bit of difference to your application.

PS if you are really desperate to jump a government queue in the Phils it usually only costs about 500 peso, they have added a British markup here :(

'Imagine' Take no notice, we got some right cheap Charlie's on here:NoNo:(cant blame Arthur for being Scottish, its been said that when a Scotsman walk, they squeak and its not because of there highly polished boots) Just having a joke Arthur xxx. £26 seems like a good deal. Its beats waiting outside in the heat and being herded like sheep. Some seem to forget when it wasn't too long ago when the average process time for a straight forward visa application was 12 months. Look at it now, im not complaining here but, how on earth can these checks be made in 2 days? Because thats the time some of these visas are being dished out. It looks to me like a lottery.

:D Yeah Gwap :D me and Arthur are tight Scots ;) :D

I've been paying for xyz issues in the Phils for 6 years and supporting my family of three + three other adults at the same time, we have paid to jump queue's in the past but I try not to because I am British and I can't normally pay to jump the queue over here in the UK :)

The "lubricate our palms" queue jumping mentality in the Phils gets to me after a while, this "VIP Service" idea is almost certainly a local idea, it's not the way we do things in Britain, after all is it not a renowned quality of the British that we are patient in queues? ;) :D

We haven't even got to the point after 6 years where we could go to the VFS, so the idea that I have another 26 quid over and above the Visa increases and all the other bl**din requirements changes in recent times upsets me, but then again I'm Scottish and my home town is tightest of the Scottish towns :D

No offence Jim! Its all in jest. Im sorry to read about your plight, so sad. It was bad enough being separated for a max of 16 weeks, goodness knows what all family are going through. It seems to me, it all comes down to pounds shillings and pence, period. I did find it to live as the Romans! If you cant beat them (we cant) then join them. I know, easy for me to say. It will all work out for you Jim, im sure :xxgrinning--00xx3:

hmm.. i dont mind paying £26 if it means my sweetheart wont have to wait in massive queues or be subjected to the very renowned filipino 'public' hospitality - which is by the way terrible! :cwm23:

After reading the hassles with the Q's etc, I would certainly pay this for a trouble free day at VFS.

I remember going to VFS in Singapore and that was a nightmare, (even though it was inside it took FOREVER to get things moving and i would have paid whatever it took to get taken earlier, i grudge paying , but will if it saves time.

We will be going to manila in August / September to do the spouse visa and i will be booking a slot on the VIP, no questions asked. Not being pretentious just don't see the point in having to wait for hours to hand in paperwork

This is what we will miss applying in Brunei, no queues EVER and in and out within minutes

My Fiancee and Kids got back from VFS Manila today and in total took them over 2 hours of queing. I agree with you Brunei if I knew the service had existed would have payed it gladly just so they did not have to que.

With the Fiancee being pregnant and with our other little one there would have made life so much easier for them. Im afraid I'm in that group that Jim was speaking about one of them Brits that hates queing. I remember my lady queing to pick up her new passport last year when I was there and I was:crazy: when got to the sign that read 2 hours from this point.

She did pay the 330 peso though for courier and txt messaging when a decision has been made by the Embassy so doesnt have to go back and pick up.

She told me that the VFS make 2 slots of 100 people from 8-1 for applications and then pick up only in afternoons from 1-5.

i rather petition a special boot for elderly, pregnant woman and mother with children rather than tolerating this kind of services....the vfs shouldn't take loads of appointment in a day that would cause applicants to wait for long hours....its like saying ok u got the money u got the better service..for me a big joke!!!!

Given that the courier (330) and SMS service (110) are additional services that some people have used before and you are able to have passport photo and photocopying done there, then this is not that bad.

If you want to see rip off prices, then try looking at the settlement checking service offered by some local authorities, they will check your application and documents for around £90 :omg:

That's true. But........ we used the local council checking service for Carina's naturalisation. Whilst is was quite expensive, the lady who checked ours did a very good. Checked every document against every question and gave lots of advice etc.
Did all the copying and stamping as checked and verified.
For us its was a big help and did reduce the stress levels.
But yes expensive
I think we paid about £50 going back a couple of years
