It’s been one month since I come back from the Philippines and each day is the same as the next. I feel that my life has stopped living at the moment in a strange way, as all I do is wake up, drive, work, drive, Internet and sleep. I have done this every workday since I have come home. Weekends would be different though, I would just stay at home because everything I used to do costs money whether having a quiet drink with the lads, watching the mighty United play (Oxford that is) or playing golf. Instead I will watch the footy results and watch crap TV!
All this in the vague hope that I can save enough money, and apply for the spousal visa for mahal in June.
The best part of the week to is being able to see mahal online in the morning for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday. :xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3: The ultimate weekend to make it easier being apart is when I am playing with my 2 ½ year old nephew! I am always looking forward to talking to mahal in lunch break at work and just before going to bed each night half an hour at a time. :xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3: Most days i'm working so hard that I might be lucky it takes my mind off being apart from mahal for a few hours, but when I get home from work and chill out, the loneliness kicks in again. I do find some solace at this forum by reading the posts, makes me chuckle at the funny posts but also understand what is felt by others. I try to contribute to the forum if I can. So cheers everyone for helping me keep my sanity! :D :D:D

well steve like many before you we all have been there, i can remember running home just for a few minutes to talk and wow betide anyone getting in front of my car those days, what made it worst was the time differance and when winter came that extra hour made it later for emma to be on the com most nights, i use to get up at 3am just to talk to her and try and get home at 2pm for another hours talk, seems just like yesterday but great times but sometimes so angry if i could not get on the line, i use to stay in most weekends infact every weekend just like you to save money for the future , steve it will be worth every penny that it will cost , try and make it happen sooner then later it will be so worth it my friend, if ever you fancy a chat mate i am only a call away, come to think of it i was only a golf green away last time and then you could not be bothered to chat :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:, so being in oxford and me in derby thats sooooooooooooooooo far away ,

Know the feeling chaps!
Luckily i am self -employed and my hours are very flexible so i can talk every-day and see her online but for sure living like a hermit, watching every penny.
Waiting for that magical time in a few weeks when i start to look at the best flight deals on the net..................
For now its work, stay in, work stay in...................:angry::NoNo::NoNo:
Soon to be back with the honey in paradise, sure as hell beats all this wind and rain and an empty bed!:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I'm sure that most of us know exactly how you feel Steve, It's certainly the same story for me. Trying to steal half an hour here or an hour there so that I can chat on line with Elaine. We chat nearly every day, and on the days where I'm too busy to chat I usually give her a quick call. I've got a deal where I can call her mobile for about 7p min.
I've stopped going out so that I can save enough money to make 3 or 4 trips a year to the Phil's. The evenings are the worst, but I try to keep myself busy by contributing to the forum, having a nose on Facebook and recently I've stated playing about with my old synthesizers and making music after a fairly lengthy break from it.
LDR's aren't easy, but the pain will be worth it when you eventually settle down with your mahal.

I know how you used to feel, making every effort to be there on time, it does feel so good seeing mahal online! But like you i would be angry sometimes not being able to see her, because of my job i am on call at weekends and they have a nasty habit of calling when i'm just about to go online at around 9am! I might be able to assess the situation on the phone and go later but usually it's an emergency. :NoNo::rolleyes:
I know the end goal is going to be the best feeling ever! It just feels so far away.
I would have had a (many) drink if I knew you then in Boracay mate! It would have been funny watching mahal listening to our accents, she would have said we were both slang! After a couple I turn into a honoury northerner and start missing out words and using t' instead of the.:icon_lol::icon_lol: :icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol::icon_lol:

Thats the greatest feeling when you know you will seeing your mahal soon! I bet you are looking forward to it! Have a great time out there Jimbojac!!:xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3:
I'm in a catch 22 situation, go see mahal or wait longer to apply for the visa. Though i know I maybe able to stop the loneliness for 3 weeks by visiting mahal in phils but won't be the same as having mahal here always.:)

I agree Ian, the pain will be worth it when we finally settle down!! :xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3: I can not wait!!
It must be hard for you as both you and Elaine work, to make time for each other and also because of the time difference. I have to ask how do you call her mobile for 7p a minute? i usually use rebtel which is 13p min, yours sounds like a good deal!!:xxgrinning--00xx3::xxgrinning--00xx3:
