Hi everyone,

My best friend is thinking of pursuing a career in nursing in the UK. She has a job as a staff nurse in Kuwait where her contract ends in less than 2 years and I'm thinking of what she needs to do to get a working visa?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks :)

As a first step in understanding extreme low chances please review here:-

unless her job is on the shortage occupation list

it could be really difficult to get a workpermit (teir 2) , the gov has now set a limit of around 20,000 workpermits a year.

Plenty of info & threads about Nursing/Visas/Work Permits here http://filipinaroses.com/forumdisplay.php/20-UK-Employment

She needs to register with UK Nursing and Midwifery Council. As Terpe states not much chance at the moment but I expect that will change when the Govt realises non English speaking ex Comecons and other sundry Euros are a liability.
