try to Google Caramoan island..the beaches there are really good! though the travel from Naga Airport to the actual island is exhausting..but still quite an experience..Naga is the nearest airport there and you have to travel by bus and boat to go to the actual island..it's still not the very commercial district and you have to travel by tricycle to go to the boats' location, but there are lots of rented houses there for the tourists..below are photos of me and my friends in 5 islands we've been at Caramoan for just 2 days..:D

Get yourself over to Coron, Elaine and I will be there and in El Nido, Palawan from Jan 2nd to 11th.

Otherwise, I been to Puerto Princesa, Panglao, Bohol, Puerto Galera and the southern part of Or.Mdo and can happily recommend them all

SoundS great all these places well maybbe not Tondo :p One question Steve is your missus just planing it for the two of you or are you going with friends n family as well? Just make sure after a long period away from loved ones she is still happy to be near but so far from all she has grown up with... I know everyone is different of course but in Jan 2012 after winter and Christmas away from family friends and the area she grew up in she may just want to spend more time with people she loves or even stay in the area she will have possibly good memories of.

I can't exactly remember the rate and the rental place's name..we initially booked at Rex Tourist Inn but instead of staying there, they offered us to stay at one of their rental houses (2 aircon rooms in one of the local's house there)..but it's just cheap, around P5K for 3 days including food, accommodation, island hopping...here, look at this page which offers packages for tour and accommodation..http://www.caramoantravel.com/ and this http://www.rextouristinn.com/..............

Hi Steve, cannot remember if you were based in HK before and know the ropes to avoid the inevitable tourist rip offs, we lived there up until 2007 so if you want a "local GwailoS" inside track I am happy to provide.. we loved evrything there but the air pollution
