hello abbymons welcome to the forum!!!

please check and read this link:
http://www.gov.im/cso/immigration/rules.xml
''All applications for Visa/Entry Clearance to the Isle of Man should be made at the nearest British post (Embassy, High Commission or Consulate) to the applicant’s place of residence. Most applications can be made online and the relevant UK Visa Application Form should be completed. The British post will then forward the application to the Isle of Man Immigration Office for consideration and decision.''

...if you apply for entry clearance you should ask the office you will be dealing with how long it is likely to take to process your application.

Thank you so much for your reply.

Those from application center provides safe answers though. "It is individually assessed." As per VFS website, "our published visa processing times do not apply to visas for Commonwealth countries, British Overseas Territories, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man." So I wanna know the usual processing time for Isle of Man. Anyone you know who applied for the said country?

Abby,
Isle of Man is part of the United Kingdom so any processing times will be relevant to your individual case and as a guide, check the Vfs website.
Which visa are you applying for?

Hi. I guess it shows that I haven't been on here in a while, but I live on the Isle of Man with my wife Yam. She's been here for just over a year.

Where on the island will you be living?

abbymons

In Douglas, Dave.

Cool. Not really much else outside of Douglas unless you plan on either catching a plane or being incarcerated in what passes for a prison! :-)

Slight exageration admittedly. If you like a lot of scenery and the countryside though, etc, you won't get better than the Isle of Man! :-)

Hi,

I too live on the Isle of Man. I am British but live and work on the island. My wife is about to submit her spouse visa application to VFS in Manila and I gather that the processing times arent necessarily the same for the Isle of Man as for the mainland.

I phoned the IOM immigration last week and they said that the UKBA look at the application first and then it is passed on to the IOM authorities for them to check, so it seems that it will be a bit longer at the very least.

Hopefully not 6 months though?

Me again.

Its so easy to phone the IOM immigration people. Amazing. I have been told by them that if ones case is straight forward then it need only be an extra couple of days on top of the UKBA handling time.

Cheers for Now

Alright mate! Yep, you're right. It only adds a few days. After they've made their decision, the UKBA send the application to the IOM more out of courtesy than anything else as IOM immigration basically told me they are duty bound to do whatever the UKBA tells them!

Good luck with your application! :xxgrinning--00xx3:

OK Thanks.
I gather there are about 2000 filipinos on the island. I was amazed when I found out. And I have discovered Robinsons for a small variety of their food!
I think our application should be going in at the beginning of the week after next so will sweat it out for a while then..........

Just got word that a friend of my wifes (met her at Hopkins), that it took her approximately 3 weeks to get her spouse visa to IOM. They did the english test together and her visa application went in just about 3 weeks ago. Good news.

My wife's only took about 4 weeks when she applied for hers last year so you shouldnt have to wait around too long mate all things being good! :)

OK Good. A friend that my wife met at Hopkins (language test centre in Manila) got hers after 3 weeks. She is due to fly here on September 8th.
