Hello all,

Im new bout this site and i need legal advices or any advice i can get regarding my current situaution.

It goes like this: I am a filipina who is currently staying in Turkey for almost 5 years now but the problem is I am ILLEGALLY staying here. I did managed to get a resident permit but I didnt have the chance to renew it so I just stayed here. I met my british boyfriend here and we are planning to get married. He knows about my situation so there will be no problem there.

What we are planning is to get married here in Turkey, pay my overstaying charges, submit the documents about the marriage in our both Philippine and UK embassy here in turkey and then fly to Philippines and get married there for family sake (this is still optional since we are already married in turkey) then manage the documents on how he can bring me to UK.

The question is: What kind of visa do I need to apply in order for me to go to UK and stay with him? What is your thought about our plan of getting married first in turkey? Do you think its better for us to be married in Philippines or UK? Will my problem with being ILLEGALLY staying in Turkey be a big problem on going to UK with my future husband?

I need advices if possible legal or whatever you can give me to make this marriage possible.

Thank you very much and we are hoping everything will be smooth and all are plans will come true

Many thanks

you can marry where ever your a legal resident
Turkey is not in the EU, so you can only apply for a fiancee or spouse visa
your past immigration history should really not effect you getting a fiancee or spouse visa

hi
it sounds like you have made things a little more complicated than you needed to i would suggest if its possible to pay the charges if possible for overstaying then at least that will partly restore the situation where your living now
if thats done im sure that you can apply for the fiancee visa into the uk
once all your documents are in order if you cant then if your willing to return to philippines then a visa can be applied for there more easily providing you have no problems there
i would suggest you go to the embassy in manilla direct yourself it can be a bit scary there is no need to use the services or many so called agencies there in philippines they charge a fortune often for very little in return once you have got the application form and paid the fees it is far less scary than you may realise i do believe you will need various checks made in philippines as to your records there ie police etc
obviously if your already married by then it would be more likely you wont have issues with the fiancee visa
do not submit any docs that are fake which can be easily obtained there any doubts wait until everything is in order
i do know a little about the process the scammers fixers visa agents from experience
good luck best wishes mark

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you very much for the helpful information you gave me. Actually paying my overstay is not a problem for me. İ hope everything will be sweet :)

Hi! twinkles, first to say welcome to the forum. Well, you are a spouse or wife now so i think it is not difficult for you to apply a visa to get in to the UK and I hope you sorted it all soon. Just keep posting and search some thread that can give you some more information or free to ask things that bothered you there... good luck :xxgrinning--00xx3:

i would also suggest marrying in philippines then applying for spouse visa like many have done succesfully.I dont think it will help your application if they discover that you were staying illegally in turkey.Best not to mention it if possible.Good luck.:)
