ok this is a weird one i guess

my friend has got himself into a situation, he thinks he might've got a girl pregnant.

he is british, she is from the philippines.

he has got it into his head that she has got pregnant on purpose, to stay in the UK

i don't know what her status is, but i believe she has only been in uk a short time (less than a year) and she is a domestic worker.

is that possible, would it be to her advantage to get pregnant? or actually is the opposite true and if she cannot keep her job she will have to return to the philippines?

i realise i might not get much sympathy, as he does not want a baby and has been very stupid and irresponsible, but i would appreciate any info a lot

thanks so much

I dont know if it would be an advantage for the girl to stay in uk. But what i would say is tell your friend next time to use a CONDOM...

Yes, he has been very stupid, irresponsible and SELFISH.

The poor girl will eventually have to leave the country and return to an even tougher life in the Philippines.

I hope he supports her and the child properly for the next 18 years.

if the baby is born in the uk, then it will be a British citizen, and its possible that the mother could try and apply for a visa to have access to the baby.

but why would she get pregnant just to stay in the UK, when there are other ways, a baby is for life not just xmas

dont be scared,..make sure that the filipina is pregnant first then take it from there...i hope your friend pay his dues and learn to tie his peni$ around his back the next time he sees a woman or particularly a 'filipina' (what is it with us filipinas??,,..hmm i wonder) but am sure its not just the visa to hold to keep a man to love us and give us the most wonderful precious gift a woman can have ..a baby!! bless her!!

telling her after having sex that he doesnt wants a baby...kinda sucks, its a pity he didnt tell her this before...

well, it was a one night stand, and she told him she was on the pill and didn't want to use a condom. i realise this does not make him any less stupid, but i think if you tell someone you are on birth control you can assume that they are not doing this for a baby!

i am just wondering whether he is just being paranoid about now thinking she may have had an ulterior motive.

she doesn't like her job, and i am sure she does like babies, so this is why he thinks she might be thinking a british baby will get her able to stay in the uk with no need to work.

so, whilst i accept there will be no sympathy available, my question is if anyone knows how likely this is?

and to come clean, it IS a "friend", it's not me, but my "friend" is kinda my boyfriend, we were "on a break", so whilst i can forgive a drunken one night stand, i cannot accept him back with a baby in tow.
thanks

i think joe already said everything...it will be hard for her even with a baby to stay in the uk.....i guess all three of you need to decide whats the best?

it was a joke, i was quoting tawi...dont get so worried :D

is this a forum with british husbands married to filipinas and its easy to stereotype, so most of us have to put up with so called banter at so point in life.

whilst they're are some filipinas that will marry or try to trap a husband these are few and far and between.

your bf on a break is at fault here, he should of used a condom and the filipina played her part to... but cant take all the blame...besides he could of gotten any woman pregnant?

yes, yes of course, it actually makes no difference she is filipina i guess. he could've been so stupid with any girl. i came on here, cos part of my worry is that getting immigration status could be a motivating factor? if it was a UK girl i would be scared she was after a council house and benefits!

i am not trying to blame the girl really, just trying to work out if the paranoia that he might've been set up is valid or not.

or get some re-assurance that it is unlikely as it would actually work against her.

thanks all for replying anyways.

i did do another reply earlier that is not showing, but some people seem to be able to see as they have referred to it. it's not me, the "friend" is my sort of boyfriend. we were "on a break". we were supposed to be getting back together when he tells me this is what happened. i realise the obvious answer is it's his problem and he was stupid etc, but it's hard to stop caring overnight

Making light of the situation give your boyfriend this e-mail addie, its the lady who does DNA tests on the Jeremy Kyle show:rolleyes:tracey.moore@granadamedia.com
To be more serious he cant turn his back on a child he has actively participated in making,if he does he is a grade-A sal-sal'er ;) She didnt do this to trap him,and the show wasnt one-sided neither,he takes 50% responsibility,Pinas isnt a place social welfare so hope the CSA makes him pay for his dalliance,he has at least 18 years to ponder on his stupidity.

i don't know her status, but she is a domestic worker, and i think there is a special visa for that? but i really don't know.

we don't know if she IS pregnant or not, it's still early days, but he has tried to talk to her and she will not return his calls. of course, if she is trying to get a baby on purpose, she is unlikely to admit this now isn't she? he is completely screwed.

i do realise i need to dump him, but right now i stupidly still care. i am so desperate i am trying to get answers from an internet forum!

she told him she hates her job, and i suspect that is her basis for being in the UK, hence my question is, if she IS pregnant, will having the baby get her status in the UK without having to do the job she really hates?

i know, i know. and as i am stupidly in love with the boy, maybe I have to pay for 18years also. i am not trying to blame the girl, i know he is responsible, i am just (desperately, pathetically) trying to find out how likely this scenario is.....

thats depends if shes is on a visa, even if she is then she may need to leave the uk after the visa runs out and take the baby with her. Visas havent been given out for domestic wokers for a long time.

until you find out her status this topic is left hanging in the air?

hi Scared im a filipina too... well i might say that filipina are just like women from other country,we have different cultures and values,,there are modern and old fashioned and there are different character traits and different morals same as in any other country, extremely difficult to generalise- same as women here in the uk... It sometimes based on how they were raised. I know alot of filipina women who making themself pregnant for the man to stay with her and ofcourse for a better life but theres also lots of woman who want to be with man for the sake of love, if u gonna ask me if i will get myself pregnant just to have visa to stay in the uk,well i will say im not yet INSANE to do that-but no one will ever know the answer to the filipina girl that ur 'friend' might get pregnant but herself...

Anyway make it sure that she is pregnant and if its really just a 1 night stand?...and if she is really pregnant then he should be responsible coz its both their fault... Hope all will be clear soon..tc
