Hello everybody
Just signed up as me and my boholanao wife are looking to move to the UK in the next 12 months. I'm a british citizen that has been working here in Bohol for 5 years. Our first child is on it's way and recent events, I wont bore you with them now, means we feel at this time we would rather be in the UK. My parents live in York so that would be the preferred location so they can see their first grandchild and we can help look after them in their twilight years. Looking to get as much information on other filipinas living in the area for moral support purposes really.

Thanks for the welcome everybody!
User name came from my car, a Nissan X-trail. Joined that local forum and the name just happened, seemed rather apt!
I've a diveshop in Panglao and my wife is from Mabini in the north of Bohol.
We are struggling bureaucracy wise to get a passport (machine broken/CFO/DFA) and then a Visa for a family visit in September. Will then call on the forum to advise re settlement visa later next year and a British passport for the baby due later this year.
Thanks

I'm from York....though the Filipina ex has moved on to Sweden.
Still, her cousin lives about 6 houses away from me, and there are lots of other Filipinas in York...certainly many more than when I first brought her here.
They even have a Barrio Fiesta each year in York now, and there's a Chinese supermarket which sells a lot of Pinoy food items. :)
An old pic of my 2 stepkids, and my boy (far left), who was born in York:

I also am waiting for my passport...damn but they're taking too much time to release it....that they're upgrading passports to e-passport, that they're doing some maintenance work on their machine, but why during the peak months when a lot of people are planning to take vacation abroad or leave the country? ufffffff.....anyways, there is nothing I can do but wait

It's strange but so many travellers I see here who have plans to move around just seem to end up staying for weeks if not months. Definitely something in the (clear clean warm) water :)
