As you may know my gf claims it is very hard for her to find a job at the moment. She says even shop jobs want graduates or ladies under 30 - she is 32!

As it happens I believe her, but wha do you think? Any suggestions? Clearly she does not want to be a bar girl!

You don't say where your gf is Ian, but my gf has recently changed jobs, she is in in the Cavite area and had lots of offers of work at Call Centres in Makati

i remember many years ago seeing ads for jobs that you had to be in your 20's and ones where you had to be above 5ft 2" :icon_lol:

you wouldn't get away with that here :D

Hi Ian, there are call centers around angeles. She doesn't need qualifications as long as you have good english. Is she a High school grad?

First page I googled:

http://www.angelescity.ph/1/posts/5_Job_Services/18_Jobs/

Seems to be a few jobs going. :)

Certainly plenty of hotels and restaurants in AC.

She could try odesk.com if she's got a computer at home. It's a website for work-at-home jobs. you set your salary and apply for online jobs. The website sends screenshots of you working to your employer (a lot of the jobs are contractual). Then you get paid. Completely legal, no taxes and hundreds of jobs in different fields to choose from. Of course, you have to set a low salary rate when you first start, but you can raise your salary as you gain work history and a good reputation.

well Ian before coming to U.K I actually live in Angeles City. There's a lot of job oppurtunities there. She just need to seek and apply. There's a lot of companies inside clark that she can try. All she needs to do is be confident enough to try. A lot of call centers too. She can apply to IQOR for a job they dont need a college level or degree for that. They just need high school grad. Or even NCO one of my bestfriend works there. I used to work in UNITED PARCEL SERVICE (UPS) in DMIA INT'L AIRPORT before I got my visa.

Just tell her to look around and there's a lot of oppurtunities for her.

I thought I'd got a job as a dancer in Angeles, but the shoes they gave me weren't big enough. :cwm3:

I think the jobs are few and far between always in phils, maybe a little business would be the way to go.

My gf has just started a little one related to her course work in hrm and is making a little profit and gaining knowledge at the same time and another plus is she will eventually leave me looking fat as a pig when we eventually live together :xxgrinning--00xx3:,lol

Sorry to hear that mate. One of the reasons I have copies everywhere now...just in case, especially as I lost practically my entire vinyl record collection in the Phils...about 40 years worth. :bigcry:

I'm quite a 'visual' person, so it's nice to post the odd picture where I feel it's relevant. :)
