FLR(m) advice required

I am new to this site but after reading a few of the threads I am sure that there is someone out there that can help.
I arrived in the uk in june and my partner and i got married in July.
We have the marriage certificate and we now want to forge ahead with the 2 year extension visa.
We hired the services of a legal solicitor to help with the initial fiance visa( big waste of £650), and now we do not want to make the same mistake again + we are now reasonsbly tight on funds after the wedding...
so bearing that in mind, a few things i need possible answers to are..

1) Can anyone please tell me what documents are needed for the FLR?
I guess it is marriage certificate and proof of english test with some bank statements? Is that it?
2) Is it worth paying the additional £250+ to go and get the visa done on the day at one of the processing offices?

Any advice will be great...

Hi there Janice Mae, welcome here to the forum.

FLR (M) Further Leave to Remain

The costs are £550 for postal applications or £850 for the premium service at one of our Public Enquiry Offices.

You need to book an appointment if you want personal application at UKBA Office (PEO)

Whether to do this or not is really down to budget.
Personally, I would say if you can manage the additional cost it's well worth it as it does save a lot of waiting under stress, as you will be given the FLR on the same day.

Please take a look at the links. If you have any questions about the requirements just fire away here, everyone is generous with their experience and support.

Try not to get too worried. To be honest it's basically a formality and you should have no problems at all. Better to apply sooner rather than later.

Thanks for your response, I have looked through the links attached and it may be me, but i am unable to locate a list of required documents?
also, i am a bit confused about the biometrics..do they simply do them on the day if we go there in person, or is this something that we need to do in advance?

Hi, Janice (I'm assuming Mae is your marital surname) belated congratulations on your marriage ... and :welcomex: to our friendly, online filipino/uk community.

:) It's understandable you'll be what the British call "feeling the pinch" financially so soon after the wedding ... but you're being very wise in applying for FLR asap - if only for the sake of getting it over with.

Should you choose the PEO option (which I also recommend ... if you feel you can afford it!) biometric checks will be carried out on the date of your appointment. Good luck with your application. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Thanks for all the info and put our mind at ease... I think we will be doing the PEO option within the next month. :-) :)
